Bobbi Brown Luxe Matte Lipstick Art Stick Liquid

I taped some you-tubes with my BFF, Randella, yesterday.  One of the You-tubes was the New Bobbi Brown Luxe Matte Lipstick.  Also, we included a Bobbi Brown Art Stick Liquid Lipstick. As a result,  I couldn’t wait to tell you all about them.  Does anything every go the way you want it to?  Or, does something unexpected always have to happen!  Nevertheless, Comcast failed me again.  First, I lost my phone connection.  Next, the TV went out.  Finally, my internet went out.  So, I waited until about four this morning, and still no internet!  Furthermore, we weren’t having a rainstorm!  Therefore, there was no reason for it.  Anywhoo, when I woke up a few hours later, it had come back on!

To start with, I haven’t bought myself a matte lipstick in the longest time.  First, the the beauty world loves to look dewy.  Therefore, a lot of lip products have also been dewy.  As a result, trend setters, like Rhianna, have been wearing glossy lip formulas to make their lips look plumper.  On the other hand, there have been matte lipsticks out there.  For example, Huda began her cosmetics line with Huda matte liquid lipsticks.  Also, the Kardashians put the matte into matte lipstick!

However, I love the high drama, sophistication and edgy looks you can only achieve with a matte lipstick. But, I haven’t had much luck with the liquid mattes, or any matte lipstick for that matter.  As a result of wearing matte lipsticks, my lips feel dry.   Moreover, there is nothing worse than feeling like you have dry lips!   So, I keep licking them to make them feel moist, which only adds to an already bad situation.

So, I was cruising the internet, and found out that Bobbi Brown was coming out with a new version of the popular Luxe Lipstick.  In addition, Bobbi Brown Luxe Matte Lipstick, has a new formula.  Also, I decided to try the Bobbi Brown Art Stick Liquid Lipstick, a semi-matte-full-coverage, creamy lipstick that is also moisturizing.

You can find the Luxe Matte Lipstick and the Art Stick Liquid Lipstick on Bobbi Brown’s website.  The Luxe Matte Lipstick comes in 18 shades, and retails for $37.   The Art Stick Liquid Lipstick  comes in 14 shades and is currently available (on sale) on the website for $21.75.

Bobbi Brown Luxe Matte Lipstick

The Luxe Matte Lipstick comes  in a brushed – matte metal bullet.   In addition, it is a gold shade with a black band in the center.  I love that the bullet looks expensive, and feels nice and weighty.

Compared to the Luxe Matte Simple Lipstick Bullet, The Art Stick packaging is more complex.

First of all, it has a click on cap.

Next, the body of the stick is a squeezable tube.

In addition, the design of the tube’s tip has a slant.  The reason is, it makes it easier to apply the lipstick.

The Luxe Matte is a new formula for Bobbi Brown.  The formula is created by mixing powders infused with oil with pure matte powder pigments.  As a result, the formula gives you full, opaque coverage.  Furthermore, it has a lightweight feel.  Most important the formula feels creamy.  Therefore, it will not dry out your lips. Above all, the best part is you can wear this high-impact lipstick for twelve hours, without having to lick your lips.  The reason is, the Luxe Matte Lipstick feels comfortable on your lips.

The Art Stick’s formula is super pigmented. As a result, You’ll get full-coverage with a semi matte finish.  Also, it is a creamy, moisturizing formula that is light weight.  Best of all, it is a long-wearing formula.

The Luxe Matte Lipstick comes in eighteen shades.  Furthermore, the range of shades goes from the nudest of nudes, with reds, orange, pinks, purples to the deepest dark plums.  I purchased four of the new shades.

First, Boss Pink is a dusty rose shade with a matte finish.  Next, Razzberry is a medium berry shade with a matte finish.  On Fire is a true blue red shade with a matte finish.  Last, Vibrant Violet is a purple fuchsia shade with a matte finish.

The Art Stick comes in sixteen shades.  The shades include brights, soft nudes, and bold statement-making shades.  I purchased one to try.  Uber Red is a bright blue-red!

First, if you are having trouble choosing a Luxe Matte Color, and you want high drama, reach for rich, long-lasting colors that will create an intense look.  For example, if you are planning to steal the spotlight, choose a highly pigmented matte in a deep ruby or bright pink shade.  On the other hand, if you are going for a bold look without too much color, try a pink matte or a nude matte shade.  It’s good to know that matte shades draw attention to your lip shape.  However, if you are looking for a plump lip, try a glossier formula.

I am in love with these Luxe Matte Lipsticks.  They feel amazing on my lips.  I’ve been enjoying wearing them.  Also, they are perfect for the fall when we wear more intense looks to go with the rich colors, styles, and fabrics of the new fall clothes. I’m excited!

The Art Stick is semi-matte.  Actually, I felt it was a bit glossy.  I love the Uber Red shade.  It is a little tricky to apply the liquid.  Bobbi Brown suggests you put it on your bottom lip first.  Then, you are supposed to blot your lips.  Then, you are supposed to take the slanted tip of the applicator, and spread the liquid to even it out.  I suggest using a lip brush if you have trouble.
