What is An Eye Primer?

Eye Primer is a liquid or a cream- based product that is applied to the eyelids to make eye shadows and eye liner go on smoother and last longer.  For instance, think double-sided tape.  First, the one side grips your eye shadow.  As a result, it helps hold on to the shadow which will make it last longer.  And, the other side makes sure the shadow sticks to your eye lids.  And, the result is that your eye shadow won’t stray from the lids.  Another task that the base can perform is it has the ability to enhance your eye makeup hues and make them look brighter.

Why Do You Need An Eye Primer?

You need it because it creates a base for your eye lids.  First, it will absorb excess oil.  Then, it can create an even surface for the even application of your eye shadow.  Also, without the base, your eyelids may be oily.  And, greasy eyelids cause eye shadows to crease.  In addition, you can have an uneven application of eye shadow.  Furthermore, your eye shadow can even disappear after only a few hours.  Another reason you need an eye shadow base is that some eyelids. like your lips, can have some natural pigment.  And, if this is the case, the natural pigment can make it difficult for certain eye shadow shades to pop.  Therefore, primers that have a nude or a white tone to them create a clean canvas to let your eye shadow shades pop.

How To Use An Eye Primer?

Once you are finished with your skincare, the next thing you need to do is squeeze a tiny bit of the shadow base on a flat concealer brush.  However, if you prefer, you can use your fingertips.  Next, apply a thin layer of the base to your eyelid. Then, the thin layer of shadow base will quickly absorb into the skin. Next, use quick, gentle tapping motions to blend the formula into your eyelids.  Start at your lash-line, and work it all the way to your eye brows.  As a result, even your brow products should last longer. And, as a result, your eyelid skin will become smooth.  Then, you are ready to apply your eye shadow.  Remember o put some shadow base under your bottom lashes if you are going to put liner or eye shadow there.  Last, let the shadow base dry for a minute before applying any eye shadows or liners.
