A flawless face is the basis for any makeup look.  And, Great Skincare, Foundation and Concealer are key.  However, if you really want your skin to be stunning, YOU NEED A PRIMER.

What Is A Primer?

So, what is a primer?  Primers fill in fine lines and smooth out your skin.  In addition, it will keep your makeup looking fresh and lasting throughout the day.  Most important, the main job of a primer is to keep your makeup  on longer and create a smooth, flawless finish for your skin.  In other words, Primers are insurance for your makeup.

Some Different Types of Primers

Primers can do a lot more than helping your foundation go on smoothly.   For example, they will prevent your makeup from bleeding, fading and blotching.  Also, many are now infused with SPF.

Blurring Primers

These primers are like Instagram Filters For Your Face.  First, they use light-reflecting technology that creates a soft-focus effect.  In other words, it’s like an airbrush erased the flaws on your face so that foundation could easily cover them.

Color-Correcting Primers

First, the color-corrector uses the concept of the color wheel.  In other words, the color wheel shades have shades on the opposite site of the wheel.  One shade will cancel the other out.  therefore, to make any complexion issue, you may have, disappear,  look at what you have, then look at the opposite side of the color wheel, and it will show you the color that will cancel the problem out.  For example, if you have a lot of redness, then you would use a green shade to neutralize it.  Furthermore, if your complexion is sallow, you would cancel it out with a blue shade color-corrector.

Primers With Anti Aging Ingredients

Primers with anti aging ingredients have both protective and repairative qualities.  For example, many have an SPF to protect against UV damage.  Also, they have skin-healthy ingredients, such as peptides and niacin.  As a result, ingredients like this will improve the texture and tone of the skin.

Illuminating Primers

This is a sure way that your foundation will look like skin.  In fact, you can where this one without foundation.  The reason is, illuminating properties add life and dimension to your complexion.

Hydrating Primers

Dry, dehydrated skin can make your foundation look flaky or caked,  Therefore, a hyaloronic primer made with hyaluronic filling spheres, vitamins and extract that make parched skin drenched with moisture will prevent foundation from settling into dry lines or dry patches.

Pore Minimizing Primers

These primers are oily skin savers.  Therefore, they blur pores, and mattify your skin so there is no shine or greasiness.  As a result, pores will look less noticeable.

How To Apply Primers

The first rule to applying primers is to always wear a moisturizer underneath.   The reason is, this will make the primer application even.

Next, start in the center of your face and work your way out.

Third, a little goes a long way.  Therefore, you want to apply a light layer to your face.  So, don’t make it heavy!!

For the best application, apply primer with either your fingertips or a sponge.

Most important, let it dry before you apply your foundation.
