The outer box has 3D holograms, (front and back) and silver sparkles.
And, the box can be recycled! 
The outside of the palette is all glitz, and rays with gold stars. The colors ombre starting with gold at the top, to pink in the center, and silver on the bottomThe rest of the compact is gold. Inside the palette Is a large mirror on underneath the lid. 
Opposite the mirror are three rows of three shades each row, horizontally or vertically. Also, to open the palette, lift the lid up from the mechanism. To close, push down on the lid until you hear it snap closed. It really is beautiful, and would make any makeup lover happy! What a great gift!

The colors are buildable. The shades apply like silk. Also, the pigments have high color payoff, and are long-lasting, without creasing or smudging. Pearlescent pigments reflect light to create a multidimensional crystal finish. Glitter creates the shimmering glow of some of the shades. Silicia and Mica are included to create smooth, soft-focus mattes with a buttery smooth finish.
My only complaint is my eyeshadow Palette arrived from Sephora and the first shade in the palette was broken, and got all over the place! Although, the matte shades are so super soft, I was able to somewhat pat it back down in the pan. This palette is different than a lot of the other Christmas Holiday Palettes, which is refreshing. Also, this is the first nine shade eyeshadow Palette from CT, and the layout of the palette is completely different for a CT palette, which is also really refreshing!
