Pat McGrath Mothership IX Heutopia Dreams

Wait for it!  Finally, it’s here!  First, for two weeks,  Pat McGrath teased us with multichrome shades!  Therefore, we assumed the palette would be along those lines.  However, when the palette finally arrived, it was not what we expected.  For one thing, lots of us dreamed this “palette of our dreams”. would be an entire multichrome palette.  In fact many of us have, not only been asking, we’ve been begging for a palette that has ten multichrome shades!  Not this time!  Instead, the Pat McGrath Mothership IX Heutopia Dreams Artistry Palette is a more muted version of the Pat McGrath Mothership Divine Rose 11 Palette.  Also, Divine Rose 11, the last mothership palette release, was a long, long time ago!

Furthermore, Pat never launches just a palette.  Usually, it is a lipstick, or something along those lines. In fact, there is a whole Divine Rose 11 Collection.  Instead of a lipstick, or a whole collection, this time Pat McGrath released another new eye product, namely the Pat McGrath Labs IntensifEYES Artistry Wand.  Let’s Get Into The Heutopia Dreams Palette and the IntensifEYES Artistry Wand.

You can Find The Pat McGrath Mothership IX Heutopia Dreams Artistry Palette and the Pat McGrath IntensifEYES Artistry Wand at Sephora and on the Pat McGrath Website.  First, Mothership IX Heutopia Dreams Artistry Palette (10 x 0.047 oz/ 1.32 g) costs $125.  Also, the IntensifEYES Artistry Wand (0.07 oz. / 2g) costs $32.

The Packaging For The Pat McGrath Mothership IX Heutopia Dreams Artistry Palette and the IntensifEYES Artistry Wand

The outer box is beautiful, with a picture of a woman’s face, eye and lips, amidst Divine Roses.  In fact, it is similar to the Original Divine Rose Palette packaging. Although, this box has a cool spaceship on the top left corner.  Even more, the lips have crystals on them.  In addition, the woman is wearing pink sunnies!  Always, the Mothership Palettes outer boxes have incredible artwork. Even more, the outer box , made like one of those big yellow business envelopes, has the string that you unwind to open, and rewind and close, the “envelope.”

Moreover, the case itself is PM’s signature black lacquer case, with Pat’s iconic hieroglyphic stamps in gold.

Inside, a large beveled mirror is on one side.  Opposite the mirror are two rows of five pans of eyeshadow. One important thing is the way Pat places her shadows in the case.  Six of the shades are on the left side of the palette, three in the top row, three underneath them.  Moreover, the hottest shades, which I call the “party shades”, are the last four shades on the right side of the palette, two on top, two underneath them .  Needless to say, her outstanding packaging is part of the Pat McGrath Experience!

The IntensifEYES Artistry Wand Packaging

To start with, the Artistry Wand comes packaged in an amethyst holographic package, with a clear plastic cover.  In this way, you can see through to the wand.  No sequins in this one!  And, that makes me happy!  Less Mess!  Finally, the black plastic wand has gold writing. First, pull off the lid. The tip of the wand is triangular in shape and it is slanted.  This makes it easier to apply to your eyelids. On the other side from the tip, is a push button. Therefore, push the button to move the product up from the tube, to the tip.

THE INGREDIENTS FOR THE MOTHERSHIP IX HEUTOPIAN DREAMS ARTISTRY PALETTE

First, good to know, Pat’s eyeshadows are the best of the best!  One, Pat’s matte shades are soft and buttery.  Furthermore, her Party shades are super creamy. Another thing about PM’s eyeshadows is they have very little kick back, and shadow fallout.  All of the palette’s shades are soft to the touch.  Also, the shadows have rich pigments that create the shadows’ staying power.  Moreover, the shades are easy to layer, and easy to blend.  In particular, the Heutopia Dreams Palette Six futuristic finishes — velvety matte, mesmerising metallic, luminous shimmer, mind-altering duochrome sparkle and transcendental triochrome.  As a result, according to Mother herself, you are able to ” gleam, smoulder and shape your way through a galaxy of looks.”

The Formula For The IntensifEYES Artistry Wand

To begin with, this is your eye artistry enhancer.  Therefore, it combines the versatility of a mixing liquid with an easy-to-use pen.  As a result, it instantly amplifies shadow vibrancy.  And, it lasts.  Furthermore, the wand was designed as a multifunctional wand.  First,  it creates some of Pat’s best-kept backstage secrets .  And, it does this in one simple step. One way to use the wand is as a base. Or use it when you layer shadows.  As a result, it will help shadows bond to each other. In addition, it will perfect the finish.

The formula is clear.  Also , according to Pat, the ‘hydrating formula glides on to ensure smooth and even shadow application, transforming metallic, shimmer and sparkling finishes into lavish lid embellishments. It’s the couture makeup tool for ultimate eye adornment.’

The ten eyeshadows are in two horizontal rows of five shades.

The Top Row Across

(Shades:From Left to Right), Skinshow Nude Xtasy, Secret Eden, Bronze Desire, Bronze Solaris 005, and Astraal Venusian Orchid.

Skinshow Nude Xtasy

First, Skinshow Nude Xtasy, a champagne shade, has a golden sheen.  Wear this champagne golden sheen shade to illuminate your eyes.  One, you can sweep it along your brow bone.   Two, highlight the inner corners of your eyes.  Finally, I would sweep the beautiful illuminator all over your eyelids.

Secret Eden

Next, Secret Eden, a dusty rose mauve shade, has a sublime matte finish.  First, you can wear this matte mauve shade to add structure, define depth, modify the shape, and contour your eyes.

Bronze Desire

Third, Bronze Desire, a warm golden bronze shade, has a gleaming metallic finish.  One way to ignite the Golden Bronze Shade is using a damp brush that has been dipped it water, you will make what is called “a slurry”.   Basically , you mix the dampened brush(water) into the eyeshadow, to create a thin muddy texture.  This is your slurry.   Next, glide the slurry across the eyelids, or on the inner corners of your eyes.  However, if you want to amplify the shade, use the IntensifEYES as a base.  Then, press the shadow on top of the base.

THE SHADES ON THE TOP ROW ARE FINGERS SWATCHES TAKEN DIRECTLY FROM THE PANS, AND THE SHADES ON THE BOTTOM ROW ARE SWATCHES ON TOP OF THE INTENSIFEYES SHADOW ENHANCER
Bronze Solaris 005

Fourth, Bronze Solaris 005, a golden bronze shade, has a metallic finish.  Again, you can get a major metallic shine by dampening your brush.  Then, dip your brush into the eyeshadow.  Next, glide your brush across your eyes.  Although, if you are looking for an extreme impact, apply IntensifEYES as a base.  Then, apply the shadow on top!

Astral Venusian Orchid

Fifth, and the last shade in the top row, Astral Venusian Orchid, a peach champagne shade, with a chartreuse gold shift, has a sparkling duochrome finish!  Then, for a glowing shine, dampen your brush, and glide the shade across your eyes.  However, if you want that ultimate duochromatic look, use the new IntensifEYES as a base, and press the shadow on top.

Blitz Sextreme

Four, the shade I adore, Blitz Sextreme, magenta, bronze and Chartreuse shades, creates a tempting trio-chrome finish. To apply Blitz Sextreme, you can swipe the shade on your eye with your finger. Another.  way to apply the trio-chrome shade is to wet your brush, and dip a wet brush into the shade.Furthermore, you can use your eyeliner brush, to create a shade-shifting line. Astral Amethyst Moon

Last, Astral Amethyst Moon, a lilac shade with a pink shift, has a duochrome finish. First, if you want a glowing shine, glide the duochrome shade across your eyes with a damp brush.  Although, for the Ultimate duochrome look, (yes, by now you get it!), apply IntensifEYES as your base.  Then, press the eyeshadow on top!

My Final Thoughts On The Pat McGrath Mothership IX Heutopia Dreams Eyeshadow Palette and IntensifEYES Artistry Wand….

A few things.  First things first.  Did you notice how some of the shades sound and look familiar?  No, it is not your imagination!  There are ten eyeshadows in this $125 palette.  Many shades are repeats.  For example, Skinshow Nude Xtasy, Blitz Sextreme, Bronze Solaris 005 and Astral Venusian Orchid are four of them.  How many more are there?  Please tell me the shades you recognized!  Moving right along, we were led to think that maybe Pat had created a multichrome palette.  Not this time, she didn’t!  Instead, the palette borrowed from the Divine Rose I and II palettes.  Even the artwork on the outer box is mostly “borrowed” from Divine Rose II.

I love the new IntensifEyes Wand because it really works amplify the shades for extreme impact.  That is a good thing.  And honestly, I still think the Mothership IX Heutopia Dreams palette is beautiful.  I am a collector, so I am thrilled to have another Palette from “Mother!”
