By Terry : Impearlious Voile De Perle Premium Highlighter Compact

I’ve been through quite a few “highlighters” this holiday season.  One of my favorites, By Terry’s Impearlious Voile De Perle ($65)  limited edition Pearlescent Glow compact, is from the “master of makeup formulas” Terry de Gunzburg.  I love the expertise that goes into Terry’s By Terry line of cosmetics.  She was the developer of  YSL’s makeup before she developed her own line of products.

The compact looks  beautiful. It also has a handy mirror inside.  My only complaint is that the compact does feel weighty and substantial, because it was made out of plastic something or other.

I am a bit surprised because usually By Terry products come in more substantial, weightier compacts.  When we pay for luxury with high-end price tags, the quality of the packaging should be as luxurious as the product itself!

Three shades are combined into the Pearlescent Glow mirrored compact.

They are:

 

Rich Ivory

Iridescent Golden Amber

Flattering Soft Pink

You will achieve a gorgeous,subtle, shimmering effect because the formula contains light-reflecting, ultra -refined, premium mineral pigments and soft-focus micro-spheres that create an ultra-radiant finish.  The finely milled powder gives you a smooth veil of shimmering color that subtly lifts your features and gives you that lit from within glow. The shades are so finely milled and silky, they never look chalky.   You can layer the shades for a more intense glow.

 

I love the versatility of the highlighter, which makes your options endless.  All three shades may be used as stand alone shades.  Use the dark shade to contour.  Or use it for a subtle bronze glow.  The light pink is great on the top of your cheekbones.  The ivory is perfect for the inner corners of your eyes and your cupid’s bow.  Using a brush, swirl all three shades together.

The end result is a smooth veil of shimmering color , a subtle luminosity, that doesn’t accentuate any fine lines and wrinkles.  And that’s a beautiful thing.  Regardless of the flimsier than usual compact, the highlighter is so high-end, and so luxurious  that it is still worth the price!
