Mac X Harris Reed Makeup Collaboration

It’s been a while since I have reviewed a Mac Collaboration.  So far, my favorite Mac collaborations have been with Korean Fashion Designers Steve J and Yoni P,  Robert Lee Morris, Kabuki, James Kaliardos, Diane Kendal, and Brooke Candy.  New and Now, is the Mac X Harris Reed Makeup Collaboration.  Even more, Harris brings a message with his collection.  Since Harris is fluid, his message is all about fluidity, inclusivity and acceptance.

Now, if you haven’t heard about Harris Reed is the 24 year old, fluid, fashion designer. Recently, you may have seen Harry Styles on the cover of Vogue.  First, it was Reed who dressed Harry Styles in a ruffled powder blue gown.  This is because, Reed created the Victorian meets fashion world with a glam rock aesthetic, look !  Even more, Reed’s inspiration comes from his love of the Renaissance period, and the 1970’s decade!

You’ll see his message in his Renaissance-inspired packaging!  Furthermore, you’ll also find Harris’s Fluidity message-(man and woman becoming one) drawn on the compacts!  Finally, you will also see his message in the clever names Harris Reed chose for his makeup shades. In fact, every name is based on the daily affirmations Reed tells himself every day!

You will find the entire Mac X Harris Reed Makeup Collaboration on the Mac Website.  First, Eyeshadow X 9 Fighting For The Beauty Of Fluidity (20 oz. / 5.85g) costs $35.  In addition, the Bronzed Brown Eye Kohl ( 0.04 oz. / 1.35g) costs $20. To begin with, all of the Harris Reed products can be smudged on, and blended with your fingertips.  And that works really well with the eyeshadows.  Even more, the limited edition eyeshadow hues are saturated, soft and smooth.

Spark Conversation

First, Spark Conversation, a bright old shade, has a frost finish.  This bright gold shade  looks wet when you apply it to the eyelids.  Also, you can wear it as a highlighter, on the inner corners of your eyes, and on your brow  bones.

Set Them Ablaze

Two, Set Them. Ablaze, a dirty orange shade, has a matte finish. This is a beautiful crease shade.  Even more, wear it on the outer corners of your eyes.  Also, wear this dirty orange shade to line your lower lash lines.  Last, you can wear it on the outer third of your eyelids.

Yeah Yeah Yeah

Three, Yeah Yeah Yeah, a copper shade, has a frost finish.First, this shade looks great as a crease shade, on your eyelids, and as a liner on your lower lash lines.

 I

Four, I, a light, white gold shade, has a fost finish.  One, this shade makes a beautiful highlighter.  Again, this shade looks wet on the eyelids.  I love it on the inner corners of your eyes, and your brow bones.  Even more, wear this as a topper, over one of the matte shades!

Not Sorry

Five, Not Sorry, a pink shade with gold pearl, and a lustrous finish.  First, Not Sorry has a lot of dimension.  You can do a soft look, and wear this shade on your eyelids.  Or, I would like it    if you put the I shade all over your eyelids, and wear this pink shade to define your eyes.

Break The Mold

Six, Break The Mold, a cool beige shade, has a matte finish. One way I would wear this cool beige shade is as a transition color.  Also, wear it in your crease, for one of your soft looks.

Unapologetically You

Seven, Unapologetically you, a light, shimmery gold shade, has a frost finish.First, this is metallicy enough to wear on your eyelids.  You can also wear this shade  as a highlighter, for a more intense look.

Deep In The Pride

Eight, Deep In The Pride, a Blue-Green shade with multicolor pearl, has a frost finish. One thing is, this Blue-green shade has a lot going for it.  Also ,it is the most interesting shade in the palette.  So, I would flaunt it! Wear it in your crease.  Also, use. it to line your lower lash line. Even more, wear it all over your eyelids.

That Day Is Today

Nine, That Day Is Today, a black shade with gold pearl, has a frost finish.  Again, like the Blue-green shade, this is a great shade to line and define your eyes.  Also, weare it on the outer third of your eyelids.  Also, wear it as your crease shade.  Next, wear it in the outer corners of your eyes, and smoke it out!

There are two shades in this palette. First, Be Your Own Light, a yellow gold shade, has a shimmer finish. Second, Over Ambitious, a coral-pink shade, has a matte finish.  Also, this is a limited edition duo for your face.  However, it is very versatile, and you can wear these shades on our yes, lips, and wherever else you want. Even more,  the formula is an emollient  base that imparts sheer color, with a dewy finish. The shades are easy to blend.  Finally, you can layer the shades. As a result, it will take these shades from sheer to intense.

First, Roman Revelation, a bright orange shade, has a matte finish.  Second, No Place Like LA, a warm nude shade, has an amplified finish.  Third, London  Grind, a deep purple shade, has an amplified finish. Do you remember when I told you that all of Harris Reed’s shades can be smudged on, and blended with your fingertips.  Therefore, the lipsticks in this collaboration do not come in tubes. Instead, they are poured into pans.  As a result, you can dab them on your lips.  However, you can also dab the lipsticks on places other than your lips.  For example, use them as blush.

Look how beautiful the lipsticks look with the eyeshadow palette and the eye liner

Also, you can wear them as eye shadows!

My Final Thoughts On The Mac X Harris Reed Makeup Collaboration…….

First, I love that this Mac X Harris Reed Makeup Collaboration  isn’t just about the makeup.  And, the makeup is beautiful and well done.

look how beautiful all the shades are, and see how cohesive this collection is

And, the entire collaboration is on point!  As a result, the makeup sends us a message.  I feel that the message is one of Mac’s soft spots too!     And, that message resonates in the packaging.  Every fanciful illustration, on the packaging, depicts the fluidity of man and woman becoming one.  Also, the names of the shades are really clevver. Every name is based on the daily affirmations Reed tells himself.
