Mac X Robert Lee Morris Holiday Collaboration

Mac X Robert Lee Morris Holiday Collaboration came just in the nick of “gift giving” time.  In fact, I have found that special little somethin’ somethin’!  Indeed, I think it’s be perfect for mom, sister, girlfriend, cousin, teacher, trainer…. you know who I mean!  Namely, two items from the  Mac x Robert Lee Morris Holiday Collaboration, a matte lipstick paired with a sculpted mirror.

Interestingly, Robert Lee Morris is no stranger to collaboration.  He became an iconic jewelry designer as a result of his collaborations with the great fashion designers, Michael Kors, Donna Karan, and Karl Lagerfeld ,to name a few. Also, he is a sculptor.  In particular, he works with gold, silver and bronze.  Furthermore, he attributes his inspiration from forms he admires in nature.

Basically, Robert Lee Morris took Classic Mac matte lipstick , and a mirror, and re-imagined it.  Hence,  he also incorporated his architectural style and recreated a new, sculpted look.  Also, the packaging has an organic look to it.

There are six matte lipstick shades in the collection.

Lychee – is a nude pink

Pumpkin – is a warm pink

Concord Grape –  is a dirty cool mauve

Persimmon  – s a warm peach nude

And, the two shades I purchased:

Fig – a deepened reddened rose

Pomegranate – a deep cranberry

Apparently, the lipstick bullets are RLM’s vision of a futuristic, architectural re-interpretation of what a lipstick could look like in the future .

Mac X Robert Lee Morris Holiday Collaboration Mirror

Above all, Robert Lee Morris admires objects from nature.  Apparently, the mirror is sculpted to look like a stone.

First, to open the mirror “stone” place your finger on the indentation and slide it outwards.

The result is half of the stone is a mirror, inside of the stone that is revealed when you slide the top off

I love the organic aesthetic of the mirror, paired with the architectural lipstick.  Most important, they both look like they could be pieces in a museum.

In Sum

Personally, I think this pairing would make a great gift !  First, who wouldn’t love a Mac lipstick in a Robert Lee Morris designed bullet?  Next, who wouldn’t love a cool little mirror that looks like a stone.  Furthermore, it was designed by Robert Lee Morris. With this in mind, who wouldn’t be thrilled to have these beautiful designed pieces that could almost be pieces you’d see in a modern museum? The Mattene Lipsticks Fig and Pomegranate are $25 each.  The mirror is $25.  The collection is a limited edition.  If you want to give some as gifts, don’t wait too long!
