The recent collaboration of French makeup artist Nars and British designer Erdem, created the “Strange Flowers” makeup collection. One of the collection’s palettes is the Nars X Erdem Poison Rose Lip Powder. On the one hand, although lip powders are trending right now, with brands like Tom Ford’s Shade and Illuminate Lips, Stellar Stardust Lip Powder Palettes and CLE Melting Lip Powder. However, at times all I can say is owwwch! And, all I can think of is the consequences one suffers from wearing certain lip powders. For instance, why would I want that horrible sensation of having dry, flakey lips, would you? On the other hand, the Poison Rose Lip Powder’s shades were so beautiful I couldn’t resist purchasing this lip powder palette.
Luckily, the new Poison Rose Lip Powder comes with a lip-priming balm. As a result, it keeps your lips moisturized. Therefore, it will prevent your lips from drying out. Hence, you’ll forgo that uncomfortable dry lip! So, take a look at the entire Nars X Erdem Strange Flowers Collection, including the lip palette (which sells for $49).
The Nars X Erdem Poison Rose Lip Powder Packaging
First of all, the packaging is gorgeous. The reason is the white and gold embossed grey compact features exotic, wild flowers. Therefore, the packaging capture’s what Erdem is all about! Erdem’s characteristic trademark is “romantic with an edge.”
Furthermore, the paper inside of the palette is also imprinted with the floral design. Also, inside, the compact has a full sized mirror. In addition, the packaging box is the traditional Nars black. However, the box also has the exotic flowers on it. Last of all, on the covers of the box and compact lid,
Nars is printed in white, and Erdem is printed in gold. Also, the palette comes with a lip shaping brush. Because it doesn’t actually sit inside the palette, I’ve already lost mine. Typical me!
The Nars X Erdem Poison Rose Lip Powder Formula
The formula is light-weight. And, the lip powder shades are insanely pigmented. In fact, with one swipe, your lips are opaque. What I love most is the formula has great staying powder. Also, the priming balm is moisturizing. Therefore, the powders are not at all drying.
The Nars X Erdem Poison Rose Lip Powder Shades
Lip Primer – a nude , moisturizing lip balm. First, wear it under the Lip Powder to prime your lips and keep them moisturized. Next, you can wear them in reverse order with the nude lip primer over the matte powder. As a result, you will have a different finish. Instead of being matte, the new finish will be a glossy finish. Hence, two looks in one palette, and one lipstick! Not bad? Last of all, you can wear the lip balm by itself.
Lip Powder – Zira is a shimmering shade of rose. Also, Zira can be worn as a highlighter. Dab Zira on the center of your bottom lip to attract light to your pout.
Calypso Lip Powder is a matte rose shade.
Damask Lip Powder is a matte fuchsia shade.
Ottoman Lip Powder is a matte scarlet shade.
Last But Not Least
What I love most about this gorgeous lip palette is its versatility. Play around with the shades and you’ll create multiple looks. For instance, create an ombre lip. In addition, you can mix the shades. And, wear one color on top and a different shade on the bottom lip. You were meant to have fun with this palette. I’m having a great time with it! However, I’ve already lost the brush that comes with it. Maybe that is because the brush didn’t fit inside the palette? Hint Hint Nars! If you already have the palette, please tell me if you love it as much as I do. If you have the palette, and have already lost the brush, let me know. Then we can complain to Nars, so their next collaboration will include the brush in the palette LOL!!!!!!
