Natasha Denona New Mini Rose Cheek Duo

Do any of you  wish mini palettes were more common?  Natasha Denona has come out with  5 shadow mini eyeshadow palettes,  representing curated, concise versions of some of her larger palettes.  Recently, I wrote about her newest mini palette, the Mini Biba Palette.  The Mini Biba Eyeshadow Palette is a good example for several reasons.  First, it is the newest Natasha Denona Mini Eyeshadow Palette.  Another reason, is the Mini Biba Palette, like its cousin, the Large Biba Palette, is a neutral palette.  Everyone needs at least one  neutral palette in their eyeshadow wardrobe!  However, do we need these extra-large palettes, with four shades of brown?   For One Thing, the probability of hitting pan in the large palettes is very low.  Too many shades, in a large palette, never get used!  On the other hand, mini palettes are not overwhelming.  It can be difficult to come up with looks with too many choices!  A concise palette means less work planning your eye looks.  Furthermore, most people don’t have the space to store the big palettes.  Also, mini palettes are a great new way to try a new formula, or a new brand, without breaking the bank!  And, it is an easy way to make some of the high end, more expensive, brands more accessible.  Last, it is easier to travel with a mini palette, than a large palette. Enough about eyeshadow palettes!  Let’s talk about a mini blush/highlighter palette: Natasha Denona New Mini Rose Cheek Palette.

First, the Mini Rose Cheek Palette was released with the Mini Biba Palette. Therefore, the two palettes go well together.  Even if you own the Biba Palette, the Mini Bibba Palette is 5  new shades. YOu don’t own these ND shades yet!  And,the same goes for the new MIni Rose Cheek Palette.  Both the blush, and the highlighter are brand new shades.  The new Mini Rose Cheek Palette is perfect to give your cheeks a pop of color and glow on the go!

You can find the Natasha Denona Mini Rose Cheek Duo Blush & HIghlighter Palette at Sephora, Beautylish, and on the Natasha Denona Website.  The Mini Rose Cheek Duo ( 2X 0.07 oz. / 2g ) costs $19.

Packaging

The Outer box, a rose gold metallic cardboard box, has a picture of the inside of the case, with the two shades.  The writing on the box is in bronze, with the exception of the brand name, Natasha Denona, stands out in white.  The blush/highlighter case is a miniature version of the full-sized ND blush and highlighter cases.  It is a plastic rose gold outer case.  To open, simply lift up on the lid.  To close, the case has a magnetic closure, simply press down until the strong magnet catches the lid, and closes it tightly.  Inside the case is a nice mirror for a mini palette, underneath the lid.  On the other side of the palette, framed in rose gold, are the two pans, one with the rose blush, the other with the highlighter.

Formula

The cream blush has a lightweight texture that melts on the skin. The formula was brightly pigmented, has soft-focus pigments, and a silky, and velvety texture.  The HIghlighter, a 3D glass-like skin highlighter formula includes chroma crystals and luxe crushed pearls.  Hyaluronic acid was included to moisturize the skin.  Botanical oils were also included, to moisturize, and nourish the skin. Also, the botanical oils have antioxidant effects.  The formula is Vegan, Cruelty Free, Paraben Free, and Mineral Oil Free.  The palette features 2 brand new shades, in the Natasha Denona iconic cream blush and highlighter formulas.

Shades

Blush

The Cream Blush, a universal pink shade, has a radiant matte finish.

Highlighter

The Super Glow HIghlighter #2 LIght-Medium, a champagne shade, has a metallic finish.

My Final Thoughts

Everyone is not a makeup artist.  Therefore, the mini palettes are great for people who ordinarily couldn’t afford a Natasha Denona, or Pat MCGrath Palette, to have the opportunity to try these awesome brands.  I am a makeup blogger, so I happen to like it all, the large palettes, the mini palettes, and everything in between.  However, my daily routine doesn’t require me to use so many shades.  As a result, the mini palettes are great for applying eyeshadow without it taking too much time, and too much thought on which shadows to use on what day!  You know what I mean?  Even for my sons’ weddings, I purchased larger palettes, and played and played with them until I came up with my wedding look, rehearsal dinner look, and brunch look.  So, for special occasions, or if you just love makeup, then go for the big guns.  But, for most people, you probably prefer the mini palettes.  You don’t have to think too much, you don’t need to be creative, you’ll get more use from the minis, you won’t be overwhelmed by the amount of similar shades in one palette, you get to try new brands, and you can take these palettes on vacation with you!
