Shake it! Shake it Good! What else would you do with a cocktail shaker? Only this cocktail shaker is the size of a lipstick bullet, and instead of shaking it to mix a martini, shake it to mix the lip pigments that are suspended in hydrating oils for the perfect wash of glossy color! It is the newest Cult Object! It is Lancome’s Juicy Shakers ($21). They come in twenty gorgeous pops of color. I purchased three, Piece of Cake 201, Vanilla Pop 252, and Melimelon 301.
It is a lip oil with a cushion applicator that gives you a pop of color and a hint of shine.
It is Lancome’s newest technology, called bi-phase technology, a process that has two distinct phases to create the Juicy Shaker. The first phase consists of a transparent oil that provides comfortable shine that is not sticky or tacky. Five oils are combined to create the formula that nourishes and treats lips like a lip balm.
The oils included are :
Peach Kernel Oil – an emollient that softens lips
Sweet Almond Oil – it conditions lips
Apricot Oil – it hydrates lips
Cranberry Oil – provides rich antioxidant properties
Muscal Oil – it is rich in essential fatty acids that soothe the lips
The second phase provides the pigment that gives you a touch of color.
Meli Melon is a pink-coral shade’
Shake, Shake, Shake that shaker! Shake it like you are shaking a cocktail shaker to make a Martini! Shake it up to five times! This will mix and emulsify the oils with the pigment. Then, tap the cushion, on the applicator, onto the lips for a hint of color with a sheer wash. The soft cushion applicator is unique, and it makes the application of the color/oil easy and precise. It delivers the perfect amount of non-sticky shine and a sheer tint of color to your lips.
Piece of Cake is a neutral nude.
For a more pigmented look you can build a base using a lip liner or a matte lipstick. Then tap on the Juicy Shaker. For a plumped Lip Look tap the Juicy Shaker onto the corners of the Cupid’s bow on the upper lip. For a Parisian Look, Lancome suggests you apply L’Absolu Rouge Definition Matte Lipstick in LA Magenta to build a base, and then add a shot of flavor on top with Juicy Shaker in Berry Love.
Vanilla Pop is also a neutral.
What I love about Lancome’s Juicy Shaker…….Aside from the awesome packaging, the cocktail shaker is original, innovative, cool, so cute, and a lot of fun, the bi-phase formula in the cocktail shaker is buildable, smells great, is extremely hydrating, isn’t sticky, feels good on the lips, is comfortable, and again. it is so much of fun the thought of it makes me smile. The pops of color are gorgeous shades (all 20 of them!) And the cushion applicator is super soft and cushy, so the oil feels so go when it goes on. And another thing I love is their smell,they smell delicious!
Do I recommend it? Absolutely go for it. Don’t expect this formula to last a long, long time-it lasts about as long as a lip balm. You’ll have to reapply it frequently, but isn’t that the fun of it? So Shake, Shake, Shake and tap that super soft cushy applicator all over those lips of yours, have fun with it, and smile!
