New from Charlotte Tilbury- Hollywood Lips Matte Liquid Lipstick ($34 – available here) was created to give your lips a Red Carpet Hollywood Pout. You don’t need Charlotte in the flesh, nor do you need your own Hollywood makeup artist, to create your contoured lips with a full pout, while you are backstage, in your bedroom getting ready for a big night out. Now, you have everything that it takes to create your very own Hollywood Lips.
How to Apply
Hollywood Lips Matte Liquid Lipstick creates the illusion of a fuller, wider lip. Use Charlotte’s Lip Cheat ($22) lip liner to contour your lips and fill them in with Hollywood Lips. It goes on like a lip gloss, dries down to a matte finish, and feels like a creamy lip treatment. There are ten gorgeous shades to choose from.
The formula
The formula is a fusion between skincare and makeup. the Hollywood Lip Formula is packed with lip boosting ingredients. Polymers smooth and create a barrier to prevent moisture loss. Sea Lavender SC is an anti-aging ingredient, active ingredients boost collagen production, and hyaluronic acid firms. plumps, smoothes and comforts lips. Cyclopentasiloxane provides a long-wearing finish. Beeswax softens lips and protects against moisture loss.
The special doe-foot applicator brush has a sculpted out side.
It provides a thin upper tip to line and define your lips. This will contour your lips to give you a fuller pout. You will create the illusion of fuller, wider lips with one swipe of the applicator. Your lip will look like you are seeing them through a “hyper-real filter.”
The applicator is unique. It has a crescent shape that is designed to mimic the curve of your lips. It delivers the right amount of product with 1 swipe. Your lips will have a lightweight feel, full coverage, and a soft focus, matte look.

I purchased two Hollywood Liquid Lips from the Collection. Showgirl, a rose berry shade, and Dangerous Liaison, a warm, rusty rose.
Showgirl, on the left, is my “nude” go-to day shade for fall. Dangerous Liaison, on the right, is a warmer, deeper shade which is good for night-wear.
I love the curved part of the doe-foot applicator,
The applicator
The curve fit around my lip, had the right amount of product on it , and in one swipe, my lip was a gorgeous opaque shade of Dangerous Liaison. The formula felt amazing for a liquid lipstick. It was comfortable, and I didn’t feel like I was wearing lipstick, let alone a matte liquid lipstick. Usually, when I put a matte liquid lipstick on, it dries out my lips in about two seconds, and I spend the rest of the day licking my lips, and drying them out worse!
I didn’t think it held up, though. It wasn’t as long-lasting as I thought it would be. And it didn’t leave a stain on my lips when it wore off. I didn’t use Lip Cheat, the Lip Pencil under it, and maybe that will help with the wear-time. But, while it was on, my lips looked gorgeous, full and plumped. I love that there are a lot of nude shades, one for every undertone, in the Hollywood Lip Collection. That’s a good thing, because nude lips continue to be the trend(read about the trend click here) that everyone seems to love the most! Let’s talk in the comments below, tell me what shades you like in the Hollywood Lips Collection!
