To begin, Tom Ford’s Limited Edition, Winter/Holiday Collection Soleil Neige, means winter sun. Furthermore, the collection includes three Eyeshadow Quads, 3 Soleil Glow Sticks, lipsticks and 2 cream and powder eyeshadow pots. Moreover, I’ve been using the Soleil Neige Blush Glow Sticks. And, I’m madly in love with them! Furthermore, I tried to purchase all three of the Eyeshadow Quads. Unfortunately, so far, I was only able to find one of the quads. The three new eyeshadow quads always sell out! Everywhere! Although, the one I was able to purchase, is the Tom Ford Soleil Neige Eyeshadow Palette 01. Finally! And I love it because it is not the same old palette that everyone makes. You know the ones I’m talking about! All the palettes have warm browns, reds, oranges, and pinks!
In Fact, Tom Ford Soleil Neige 01 Eyeshadow Quad is the poster child for the Soleil Neige Collection. For one thing, Soleil Neige is French for snow sun. Think Apres Ski ! Don’t you see yourself skiing down snow covered mountains? Also, I can almost feel and see sunny, frosty cold days. As a result, the Soleil Neige 01 Eye Color Quad’s 4 coordinated eyeshadows are cool-toned, icy, smokey shades!
Tom Ford Soleil Neige 01 Eyeshadow Palette Packaging
First, the palette comes in a gold-metallic outer box. Next, the part I love most, is the compact.
Instead of the typical Tom Ford Brown, the compact is bright, shiny and white.Although, it does have the gold metal lip that has, embossed, Tom Ford. Furthermore, the white palette has a magnetic closure. I love that the palette has a magnetic closure. This is because the palette is secured, and sealed shut.
Inside, the palette has a full-sized mirror on one side.
On the other side, are four coordinated eye shadow pans, and two double-ended applicators. So, you can take the palette when you go on your next ski vacation!
Formula For The Tom Ford Soleil Neige 01 Eyeshadow Palette
To begin with, the Soleil Neige 01 palette is everyone’s favorite…… Tom Ford Wet/Dry Formula. In other words, you can use the shadows wet, or you can use them dry. First, you will get different effects when used wet, or dry. For example, used wet, the shadows are more intense and more opaque. However, you don’t have to use the shadows wet to get a beautiful effect. Instead, used dry, you get a more sheer, shadow topper effect. Or, you can layer and build the shades for more intensity. All of the shadows are very shimmery and glittery!
The downside to the shadows is you will get some fallout. Although, used wet, you’ll save yourself from shadow fallout. However, used dry, especially with the two darker shades, you need to tap, tap, tap, your brush to get the excess shadow off of the brush. Then, pat, pat, pat the shadow on your eyes. Moreover, do your eyes before you do your face makeup!!!
The Tom Ford Soleil Neige 01 Eyeshadow Palette Shades
First of all, the shades have no names! It reminds me of the U2 song, Where the Streets Have No Names! It’s almost that bad! So, we’ll have to go by colors.
Frosty White Shade
To begin with, the white pan, an icy bright white shade, has a shimmering, glittery finish. First, you can use this icy white shade all over your eyes as a base. Next, use it in the inner corners of your eyes. Also, use it on your brow bones, or on the brow bone’s arch. Even more, use it on the inner third of your eyelids. Last, use the white shade as a topper. Pat the white shade on top of other shadows, for an icy effect.
Taupe Metallic Shade
Second, the taupe pan, a taupe shade, has a sparkling, glittery finish. Even dry, the taupe shade has a shimmering wet effect. As a result, I love the taupe shade all over your eyelids for a wet-look effect! You can always use the taupe shade in your crease. However, it may not show up. So, use a darker shade on top of the taupe. Or, use the taupe shadow on the inner corners of your eyes, on on the inner third of your eyelids.
Third, the navy pan, a deep navy shade, has a sparkling, glittery finish. First, you can use the navy shadow on your eyelids. Also, use navy as your crease shade. Even more, use the navy to line your lower lash lines. Finally, wet the navy shade, using your fingers, for a full-on pat down, place the navy in the center of your eye. In this way, your eyes will pop!
Black Shade Looks (More Like A Gunmetal Shade)
Last, the black (gunmetal) pan, a gunmetal black shade, has a sparkling, glittery finish. I love to wet this shade and use it on the outer corners of my eyes. Also, use it wet, and line your lower lash lines. Moreover, used dry, you can use it all over your lids. Even more, wear this black gunmetal shade in your crease, and on the outer third of your eyelids. This is a great shade to make a smokey-eye look.
Tom Ford Soleil Neige 01 Eyeshadow Quad Last But Not Least……….
First, my first thought is, even though there are three eyeshadow quads in the Tom Ford Soleil Neige Collection, it is the Soleil Neige 01 Eyeshadow Quad’s Apres Ski Color-Story, that embodies the vibe of the entire collection. As a result, this is truly the perfect palette for a winter Soleil Collection!
One con is, the palette has no matte shades. and, if you are a stickler for matte creases, and matte transition shades, then, this palette isn’t for you. Although, if you love the palette, then you can always use mattes from one of your other palettes.
One thing I love is, the two shades, white, and taupe, can be used sheer, as eyeshadow toppers.
Let me know if you were lucky enough to have one, two or all three of the Tom Ford Soleil Neige Quads. Which ones do you have? Also, do you love them? Which one is your favorite? Let me know what you think in the comment section below. Or, just stop in to say hi!
