Would you wait a year for a $100 quad eyeshadow palette? I did! Therefore my next question to myself , “was it worth the wait?” Another question I posed to myself “is it worth the price?” To begin with, I am talking about the Surratt Beyond Beige Petite Eyeshadow Palette. Even more, I really did wait a whole year for this palette to be restocked!
Also, would you believe, the Beyond Beige Palette has already sold out again! And, there are many reasons why this is so. First the most requested Surratt eyeshadow palette is … the Beyond Beige Petite Palette. Next, the shadows are perfection! The reason for this is “the slurry method”, a unique Japanese formula. In addition, this luxury makeup is customizable and refillable. Last, the shadows in the Beyond Beige Petite Palette are luxurious, customizable, refillable and super easy to use.
Furthermore, everyone loves a nude look. Some of my favorite brands have Nude Palettes. For example, Huda has two nude eyeshadow palettes, Nude Obsessions, and Naughty Nude . Natasha Denona has the Natasha Denona Mini Nude Palette . Then, there is Illamasqua’s nude collection that includes a nude eyeshadow palette. You get the picture!
You can find the Surratt Beyond Beige Petite Palette at Beautylish, Revolve, Neiman Marcus, and on the Surratt Beauty Website. And, The Surratt Curated Beyond Beige Petite Palette ( 4 X 0.06 oz. / 1.7g) costs $100.
The Surratt Beyond Beige Petite Palette Packaging
To start with, all of the Surratt Beauty compacts are reusable. Furthermore, the palettes are customizable! Here is what you need to know. You can purchase a Surratt petite palette for $20. The palette holds four eyeshadow. However, the palette can also hold two eyeshadow and a blush. Or, you can have two blush shades in the petite palette. There are holes on the back of the palette that when you put a point through, the shadow pans come out. Then, you can refill the palette with other shades. Also, the palette includes a non-distortion mirror, and a one hand push button opening. Evenmore, the palette is lightweight and secure.
Now, once you have an empty palette, you are ready to fill it up! First, you’ll need to scroll to explore the Surratt Artistique Blush and Artistique Eyeshadow shades. Once you receive your shades, peel the stickers from the backs of each tile. Last, place them however you like, into your refillable Petite palette. Most of the shadows cost $22 each.
The Formula For The Surratt Beyond Beige Petite Palette
First, each Artistique eyeshadow is created using the exclusive Japanese “slurry”method. In fact, 80% of all Japanese eyeshadow and blush, are made using this unique Japanese method. As a result, the texture of the shadows is luxe, and blendable. Even more, these illuminating shades can be used wet or dry. Even more, the shadows have a suede-like texture. Additionally, the shadows are easy to apply, nicely pigmented, and do not have fallout! More, the shadows are soft, blendable, and long-lasting. As a result, you can do a subtle look for day-time , and do a more intense, dramatic look for night time.
Furthermore, here is a basic description of the Japanese Sully Process. To start, the cosmetic color powder pigment is mixed with a solvent (like water.). In this way, the mixture becomes “slurry.” In other words, the mixture looks like mayonnaise. Next, the wet powder is poured into the pan. Then, the mixture gets pressed with a screen, so that the solvent gets sucked up. Finally, the product needs to dry.
This process is different from the other way eyeshadow is made. This is because, the Japanese Sully method starts out wet. On the other hand, the typical way to make eyeshadows is to press dry pigments and powders into the pans.
The Surratt Beyond Beige Petite Palette Shades
Top Row Across Left to Right
Left : Greige
First, Greige, a grey taupe shade has a matte finish. One way to wear Greige is all over your eyelids. In this way, you will have a light wash of color. Also, wear it as a transition color. In other words, typically, transition eyeshadow is applied before darker shades to the area just above your crease. However, using a fluffy brush, brush the transition shade anywhere two contrasting colors will meet.
Right : Cuivre
Next, Cuivre, a copper shade, has a sparkling pearl finish. First, you can wear this copper sparkle as an eyeshadow topper. Also, wear it by itself all over your eyelids. And, wear Cuivre to line your lower lash line. Remember, any of these shades become more intense when you use them wet.
Bottom Row Left to Right
Left : Brun Noir
Next, Brun Noir, a brown-black shade, has a satiny finish. This is the deepest shade in the Beyond Beige palette. Therefore, were this shade to line your lower lash line. Also, wear it to define your crease, and the outer corners of your eyes. Even more, smoke this shade from the outer corner, towards the end of your eyebrow.
Right : Saumon
Finally, Saumon, a ballerina slipper peach shade, has a satin finish. Wear this peach shade as a light wash of color all over your eyelids. Also, wear this shade just above your crease, as a transition shade. Again, you can wet any of these colors for a more intense look.
My Final Thoughts On The Surratt Beyond Beige Petite Palette…..
Troy Surratt himself curated this palette. And, that is the reason it is so well loved! First, these shades are not any old ordinary greige, copper, brown-black and peach! Maybe, it is the exceptional and unique way these shades are created that make them so much more than the average palette. Even my beloved Pat McGrath and Natasha Denona palettes have fallout. However, Surratt’s shades do not have fallout. Also, these shades are soft like butter, and glide on like a cream. You have to try it, feel it, apply it, and then you’ll believe it. So, I answered my questions. Yes, it was worth the wait. Yes, it is worth a $100.
Now, rather than wait for a year for this palette, here is what I should have done! First I should have purchased an empty petite compact for $20. And, then I should have gone to the individual 40 something shades, at $22 a piece.Yes, the shades in this palette are part of the eyeshadow collection. Then, I should have made the same palette that Surratt curated. It would have cost 8 dollars more. But, 8 dollars is better than waiting for something to arrive for a year, don’t you think?
xo
I would love to hear what you think of the Surratt eyeshadows, and spending so much for one petite palette! Am I nuts? Let me know when you feel these, see these, and try these on yourself! I’m not so nuts after all. One last thing, if you are willing to spend the money for an eyeshadow palette, make sure it is a neutral palette. The reason is, you will get a lot more wear with a neutral palette, and will be able to wear it day and night.
