Last week I wrote about ten new makeup trends for Spring/Summer 2017. There were a lot more makeup trends to come out of fashion week. The makeup trends go from one extreme to the other. One trend is subtle, no-makeup-makeup, no powder, and lots of bare skin. It is minimal makeup trend/ The other extreme is lots of color, art designs on the face, dried flowers on the face, and neon eye shadows. It is a resurgence of the makeup from the 80’s, which was over the top in color and application. You decide which trends are right for you.
Subtle Smokey Eye Makeup
The smokey eye makeup is subtle, and light. It is kept around the lash lines, so it is less dramatic, and less smokey than what we think of as a smokey eye. I think it is very beautiful.
Glossy Eyes
I love the glossy eye, and it is getting more popular every season. Gloss is easy to apply. It looks fresh and amazing. A glossy eye is versatile because it can be soft, or it can be edgy.
To create a soft glossy eye, use a clear gloss to make the eye soft.
You can do an edgier glossy eye using a glossy shade with color. If you really want to rock it, do a glossy eye with gloss blended with glitter!
You know that saying, what goes around, comes around. I used to wear blue eye shadow in the 80’s! Well, guess what? It’s BACK, and it looks as pretty as ever!
Don’t you think this eye is gorgeous? OMG! I love it! And now we can wear blue eye shadow again? I am so thrilled!
Warm Statement Shadow
These bright neon reds and oranges are so much fun! No, they are not , nor do they look, dated! Either wear them from the lash to the crease, or as a liner accent. And, they sure do make a statement!
Liner Only On The Lower Lashes
This trend creates a big effect, and it is really easy to achieve. I used to wear liner only on the bottom when I first started to wear eye liner, when I was in high school, I think. I don’t think I could go without the top done too, it just looks weird to me. What about you? Do you like liner on top, on bottom, or both, or none at all?
Cool Highlighted Inner Corners
This really makes the eyes pop. All it takes is this little touch of glamour, and your results are a pure WOW Factor! I love this look, it works and it is so simple to do, and doesn’t take but half a minute!
Silvery Frosty Beige Shades
This is a more subtle frosted eye, that looks like a nude shimmer. I love beige eye shadow, with a little shimmer. It gives you one step above a nude no makeup makeup look. It really looks stunning.
No mascara for pale lashed girls. A minimalist look. Not only do they not put mascara on pale lashes, sometimes they actually bleach the lashes to be pale.
Thick Brows Pushed Up
This is a minimalist look. It is a softer look, using a a gentle sweep with eyebrow powder creates the perfect look.
Bee Stung Lips
This look is achieved by using a subtle lip stain, a lip tint, or a tinted balm. It can also be done by just leaving the lips bare. It is another minimalist look.
Glossy Red Lips
The spring/summer-2017 red lip is a little bit understated, it is an easy, wearable lip. The new trend for red lips is that they have a satin texture. Wear this lip with tons of sheen every where else on your face.
Shimmery, Glittery Lips
This look can be versatile. You can look glittery and shimmery – a version of high fashion, or you can look more dewy, a little more fancy than what you would normally wear. You can cover your lips with fine glitter, or chunky glitter. I think this is a beautiful look.
I have all the lip glitter from Pat McGrath’s last lip collection. It was a bit messy to put on and it felt weird. Other than that, it looked magnificent. The things we do for beauty!
Were any of these trends something you would try this spring and summer? Let’s talk in the comments below. What are your thoughts on the minimalist trend, or the more 80’s makeup, color, glitter, shine, gloss trend? That is definitely the one for me!
You Are Awesome!
