The Dior Forever line has been around since 2007. Although now the foundations have a new, updated formula. The skincare ingredients and the packaging have both been updated. And, this new generation of foundation provides an SPF 15 sunscreen. I purchased both the Dior Forever, which is the Matte Finish and the Dior Forever Glow foundations. Both are “high-perfection foundations” that are concentrated with 86% floral skincare. Dior is now committed to sustainable beauty. The new formulas are considered clean beauty. Even more, the packaging has been redesigned, taking the environment into consideration. Both finishes are supposed to visibly improve the skin. The foundation each come in 42 shades: the no-transfer matte or the hydrating glow. I prefer the Glow Formula, as I am not a fan of most matte formulas. The rest of this review will be about the New Dior Forever Skin Glow Foundation, since I purchased it, it has been my go to foundation.
You can find The Dior Forever Matte, and The Dior Forever Glow at Sephora, Ulta, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus and on the Dior Website. The Dior Forever Foundation in both shades (1 fl. oz./ 30 mL) costs $55.
The packaging has also been redesigned: the glass bottle is made with 40% recycled glass, that prevents 488 tons of non-recoverable glass waste each year. And its cap is made from 100% recycled PET.
The New Generation Dior formula is now a clean formula. There is less than 1% of synthetic fragrance. It smells like sunscreen! I always liked that scent. The new generation foundation is heat and humidity resistant. It is longwearing, for up to 24 hours of true color wear and hydration. It gives you medium coverage, and visibly reduces pores for smooth, radiant complexions. Also it is a hydrating formula. The highlighted ingredients include Iris Extract, that guards against oxidation and calms inflammation. Hibiscus Extract is included to help renew the look of your skin, as it works as a mild exfoliant. And, Wild Pansy Extract is included to maintain hydration for healthy looking skin.
The sunscreen works on two levels. First, Titanium dioxide, a non-irritating mineral and a safe alternative to synthetically derived sunscreens, is shown to ABSORB UV LIGHT BEFORE IT REACHES YOUR SKIN! It reflects UVA and UVB RAYS. Octisalate, a colorless chemical liquid is used to Absorb into skin to provide SUN REFLECTION. It absorbs UVB Rays, which are the rays associated with sunburns.
“Dior excludes the following ingredients from the formulation of new products while seeking alternatives that will maintain these products’ sensory qualities and performance: • BHA (butylhydroxyanisole), diethyl phthalate, formaldehyde-releasing preservatives, ethanolamine, homosalate, palm oil and palm oil derivatives not certified by the RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil), methylisothiazolinone/methylchloroisothiazolinone, octocrylene, oxybenzone and other benzophenones, parabens, cyclic silicones (cyclohexasiloxane, cyclopentasiloxane), aluminum salts, triclocarban, triclosan, triethanolamine.”
Forever Matte comes in 43 shades. I purchased the shade 3N, a neutral shade with beige undertones, that was a bit too dark for me now.
It should be o.k. for the summer. It gives 24 hour wear, is transfer-proof, and it is matte.
The Forever Skin Glow comes in 42 shades. I purchased 2N, Neutral glow, for lighter skin with neutral beige undertones, lighter than 3N, and is perfect for now.
I am loving the Glow Formula. It gives you a radiant skin-like satin finish.
It is hydrating, its glowy and it has a skin-like -satin finish.
I love the Glow formula because it also gives you 24 hour hydration, so if you have dry skin, your skin will love this.
