March 2017 Birchbox, Thumbs Up? Or Thumbs Down? Let’s find out together.
These are the March Products, and behind them is the box they came in. The box as curated by Reese Witherspoon, who teamed up with Birchbox to put together a Southern-inspired collection of Reese’s favorites! The box is called PRETTY MIGHTY. According to Reese, these products are powerful, high-performing products that are perfect for powerful women, like us!
If you’re hankerin for Texas Hair, big volume, with body and bounce, this product is for you. For me? Not so much. Although it makes the hair shiny, my hair is too long, and too heavy for bouncy body … it’s just not happenin for me.
The bottle is a deluxe sample. It is great for travel. It has a nice spray mechanism. I didn’t like the scent. it was too musky for me. Also, I am from the East Coast, where Big voluminous hair is a no, no.
The next product is called Boost, by Arrow. It is a color enhancing Lip Balm, which means it is formulated to adjust to your skin’s unique pH. It is a hydrating balm that is packed with mango seed butter, and the hue it creates is a “just for you hue”, because it will react differently on everybody. I like this product because everyone needs a nice lip balm, and this one adds your own personal a tint of color.
The Porefessional is a cute way of saying this sheer, oil-free bakm minimizes-your pores and smoothes your skin.
If you haven’t heard about this product, you have been hiding under a rock. It is very popular. And it works with all skin tones.
The packaging is cute, as are all of Benefit’s products.
It is flesh color when you apply it, and when you rub it in it is transparent, but it does a nice job blurring your pores and smoothing out your skin. It is good for under makeup to provide you with a nice canvas for applying your makeup and blurring your imperfections. Even the packaging for the teeny sample was above and beyond, I would have rather had a larger sized sample, because other than it being cute, it was worthless. I think it cost them more money to make the sample box, than it did to put that teensy weensy tube in it. A couple pea sized amounts for touch ups is all you can do with it.
Clarins Hydra Essential Silky Cream for Normal to Dry Skin is a luxurious face cream that provides all day hydration.
This cream moisturizes and quenches your skin so you have long-lasting hydration, which is essential to restore radiance and comfort. Clarins included the leaf of life, from Madagascar, that is known to act like hyaluronic acid, the sponge molecule, is included because of its exceptional hydrating properties.
Clarins is well-known for using plant extracts in their products, which has set them apart from other brands for years. Now the other brands are including plant extracts, but Clarins was a pioneer of plant extracts for skincare.
The cream is luxurious.
As soon as I started rubbing it into my skin, I could feel it moisturizing, and hydrating it.
It definitely put moisture back into my skin (which is very dry to begin with.) It also has a sunscreen in it, which is always a good thing!
This product is from Italy by a company named Davines. Ol All in One Milk is a nourishing, all-in-one leave-in treatment that detangles, while adding volume, shine and heat protection. I sprayed it on my hand to see what would be going on my hair, and it did look like milk. I do like products that detangle, and comb through, but I really disliked the smell of this product. It smelled too much like an old fashioned barber shop to me, or an old fashioned hair salon.
These two packets were a bonus in this month’s box. Davines Ol Shampo and Conditioner is touted as being a strand-nourishing duo that cleanses, softens and detangles the hair.
I was a little disappointed in my March Subscription Birchbox. I was sad that there were no makeup products. I love a little new blusher, or lipstick, even a nail polish would have been nice. It was too much about hair , and some creams. The pH balanced lip balm felt too much like a chapstick, and there are so many pH changing products on the market right now, all I can say is…. Eh.
So I am really asking you for your opinion on what you think about this box. Would you be happy with hair products , and a balm and two creams? Or do you feel Eh, like I do? Let me know in the comments below. For those of you who comment, I will send you our glam bag! So even if you are writing to say hello, just do it!
You Are Awesome!
