Tom Ford New Limited Edition Rose Prick Eyeshadow Quads : Forbidden Pink and Rose Topaz

Eye ShadowsEyesMakeup

The Two Rose Prick Eyeshadow Quads were created to be part of the Rose Prick Collection, which began with Tom Ford’s Rose Prick Fragrance.  This is just what happened when he came out with the Cherry Fragrances ( there are three of them,) and then came the Cherry eyeshadow quad.  But, where  pink is concerned- don’t let the pink themed packaging fool you. There have been so many pink palettes released these past few years, like me, you probably don’t need another one.  Well, these palettes have a more rosy character color story. They are not so pink!  Also good to know, the Rose Topaz palette is a repromote that happens to come in the pink packaging.  You can also find it in the original TF case.  So, it is not so new after all.

You can find the Rose Prick Collection Eyeshadow Quads Forbidden Pink and Rose Topaz  at Sephora, Beautylish, and on the Tom Ford Beauty Website. Each of the quads 4x(.31 0z./9g) costs $90.

The packaging is pretty in pink.  The outer carton, and the quad case are all a light shade of pink, which is actually pretty for the Spring. The case has a limited edition cross-hatch design embossed into the outside of the case.  Also, the case has a magnetic closure. Inside, the case has a full mirror underneath the lid, and on the other side are the four pans with the four eyeshadows. Also, the palette comes with two dual-ended applicators, which are both brushes and sponges.

The cream formula is a lightweight, long-lasting, powder-cream hybrid formula. The formula is infused with high-impact pigments and lush emollients that mimic the structure of the skin’s ceramides, so that these long-lasting shadows move with skin for a crease- and flake-resistant finish.

Forbidden Pink Palette

The Forbidden Pink Palette shades:

Left to Right is a rosy brown matte shade and a shimmering pale rose gold shade.

Underneath from Left to Right is a shimmering copper shade and a deep chocolate brown matte shade.

Rose Topaz Palette

The Rose Topaz Palette shades:

Left to Right is a soft nude matte shade, and a frosted beige shade.

Underneath Left to Right is a silver sparkle shade and a charcoal matte shade.

If you only could get one of the palettes I would get the Forbidden Pink Palette, which is the more glamorous of the two.  The shades remind me of Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk Palette, only the Pillow Talk Palette leans more orange, and the Forbidden Pink leans more rosy.  On the other hand, the Rose Quartz Palette is more ethereal than the Forbidden Pink

.Which basically means the shades don’t have the amount of pigments that the Forbidden Pink Palette does.  So, unless your complexion is very fair to pale, the Rose Topaz is not the palette for you.  I really do love the Forbidden Pink palettes shades, it is a really pretty palette all the way around.
