Now, U.K.  Neuroscientists have been able to specify which tunes that are most relaxing and restoring songs on the planet, ever!  According to a study, the participants, both men and women, were to put together difficult puzzles.  They played many songs while the participants were working on these puzzles.  There were 10 songs that resulted in a large percentage  of an overall  reduction of anxiety, and a reduction in their usual physiological resting rates.

The top #1 Song is  “Weightless” by Marconi Union.  The song resulted in a 65% reduction in the participant’s overall anxiety, and a 35% reduction in their usual physiological resting rates.  What is equally remarkable is this song was created for this very reason .  The Group, Marconi Union collaborated with sound therapists, and created  carefully arranged harmonies, rhythms, and bass lines that help slow the listener’s heart rate down, reduce blood pressure, and lower the levels of the stress hormone, cortisol.

Stress and Anxiety increase the risk of health issues, ie: heart disease, obesity, depression, gastrointestinal problems, asthma and so on.  More troubling, a Harvard and Stanford paper recently found that health issues from job stress alone cause more deaths than diabetes, Alzheimer’s, or influenza.
