Isn’t it difficult to find a good concealer? I am always looking for one that is lightweight, long-lasting and stays smooth (doesn’t cake} under my eyes. Oh, and it’s got to be able to cover whatever is going on under my eyes, as well as act as a spot concealer to correct anything that needs concealing on my face at the moment.
The Newest Concealer From Tarte, The Rainforest of the Sea Aquacealer Concealer ($26 AT SEPHORA) is all that and more! The formula is lightweight, and contains 20% water so it delivers the coverage you want and moisturizes your skin at the same time! And it is long-lasting! (Up to 12 hours!)
This concealer is also a serum. It is formulated with concentrated levels of pigments that are suspended in a deep conditioning serum. The serum is infused with Tarte’s twelve hour power- packed Rainforest of the Sea Complex. Tarte says:
The Rainforest of the Sea Complex is the ultimate defense for your skin. It protects it from Free Radicals, outside aggressors and premature signs of aging.
It comes in six colors. I bought the medium which is what I am featuring today. The colors are :
fair skin – pink undertones
light skin – yellow undertones
light-medium – light to medium with peach undertones
medium skin – peach undertones
tan skin – peach undertones
dark skin – peach undertones
I love the cushioned applicator wand. It is double the size of a regular cushioned wand, and it is munch spongier, and thicker. It is great for masking red spots, covering redness, covering dark spots, and hiding acne. You can also purchase the double – ended Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Airbrusher Concealer Brush ($24 Sephora). It is a great brush that works perfectly with this formula. The soft-dense larger end has dense bristles of different sizes. You would use this to buff the concealer all over the contours of the face. If you do want to use the concealer as a contour, remember to go a shade lighter and a shad darker than your actual concealer color. The smaller end of the brush is for precision. It is ideal for brightening the under eye area, and covering imperfections such as acne and dark spots. It allows you to build the product, and prevent streaking. I highly recommend this brush, and you can use it with your other formulas too!

This falls into my top three favorite concealers, after the Hourglass stick concealer and Urban Decay’s Naked Concealer. The overall Rainforest of the Sea collection works perfectly on skin, giving good coverage while hydrating my skin the perfect amount.
