I just came back from Beautycon NYC, and all I saw was glitter, glow, and metallic makeup. I happen to love exciting makeup, and I think these trends are a lot of fun, especially for the summer, when our clothing is minimal, we are suntanned, and nothing looks as good as makeup with some shimmer and luster!
Stila has the most gorgeous liquid eye shadows , Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter and Glow Liquid Eye Shadows ($24) that are long-wearing, water-infused, lightweight liquid glitter or metallic eye shadows. They glide on and dry down smoothly. They are loaded with lots of sparkle, and they leave your eyes with the luster and shimmer perfect for the summer season.
There are nine glitter shades and three shades with a metallic finish in this collection. The range of shades are gorgeous for the summer months. I love them so much, I purchased five shades.
The Metallic Shades –
I love the close up shots of these shades, they are comprised of multi-metallic metals that shimmer like there is no tomorrow. Into The Blue is a blue-purple with a Metallic finish.
This shade can be worn on its own or on top of a deeper shadow, as a pop of color in the center of the eye, and I would wear it as a liner, or on top of my darker liner.
Sunset Cove is a pink gold me
I would wear sunset cove as a shimmer on my eyelid, as a highlighter, or a pop of color in the center of the lid, and on top of a deeper shade to give it more dimension. A real Unicorn shade!
This pink-blue metallic shade is gorgeous. It is a pink blue metallic called Sea Siren.
I would wear this by itself as a shimmer on my eyelid, as a pop in the center of my eyelid over a deeper shadow, in the corner of the eyes, and on top of a deeper shadow shade. I love the cool icy feeling I get when I look at this shade. It almost makes me shiver.
The two Glitter Shades I purchased :
Violet Vixen is a violet-blue with a glitter finish
Violet Vixen is a dynamo shade. I would wear this on it’s own, or on top of a deeper shade, or on top of my eyeliner.
Kitten Karma is a champagne, silver and copper glitter. For me, this shade is a neutral. I wear this shade on top of any of my neutral shadows to for more dimension and interest. I also would wear this alone, or as a pop in the center of the eye. I love this shade, and have gotten a lot of wear out of it because it isn’t so glittery, that it can be worn in the day!
Violet Vixen, Sunset Cove, Into The Blue, Sea Siren, and Kitten Karma
I love the look of one coat of any of these shades along the lashline and at the center of the lid. Use your finger or a stiff brush, and a tapping motion to apply and blend the edges until it sets. It blends really well. I prefer using my finger and patting it on the lid. I love the effect of wearing them over a deep colored eye shadow. As you can see, these shades are pigmented, crease resistant, easy to apply, and just plain gorgeous. They are so long-wearing. My best tip would be to use a glitter primer or a glitter glue, which will eliminate most of any glitter fallout. These innovative liquid eye shadows will give you a sophisticated glamour this summer!
Let me know what you think about these gorgeous shades of glitter and metallic eye shadows. Do you like liquid shadows? If you think these would be difficult to apply, they are not. And the glitter does not get clumpy! Let’s talk in the comments below!
You Are Awesome!
