Unfortunately, this Nars Holiday 2020 Collection isn’t up to par considering last year’s Studio 54 Holiday Collection. For one thing you can’t compete with names like Inferno Eyes, and Hustle Cheeks. Also,the packaging, and the shades of eyeshadow,blush,and lipsticks were outstanding. However, this years Nars Holiday Collection reflects the kind of year we all are going through. Some descriptions of 2020 ,that comes to mind, is, no fun, drab, and boring. We really don’t go anywhere. And, we don’t socialize at all. In fact, we can’t even spend the Holidays with our families and friends for fear that we’ll get sick. Fortunately, Nars Holiday has released the Nars Au Soleil Face Set.
The set includes three eyeshadows, a bronzer,and a mini Climax Mascara. Actually, the Nars Au Soleil Face Set was created to give us “some sun”. Or, I should say, the Nars Au Soleil Face Set creates the look that we’ve been enjoying the sunshine. Regardless of the fact that, even in Florida, the temperature is 40 degrees F!
And, when it comes to the Holiday Nars VIP Audacious Lipsticks, the only thing that is new about them is their holiday packaging. Otherwise, everything else, including the formula, shades,and price, is the same!
Last, the Nars Au Soleil Face Set is part of the Nars Bronze Voyage Collection. The Au Soleil palette is a warm palette. On the other hand, there is also a cool palette in the collection, the Nars Vacances Face Set.
You can find the Nars Au Soleil Face Set, and the VIP Audacious LIpsticks in their new packaging for the holidays, at Sephora and on the Nars Cosmetics Website. First, the Au Soleil Palette (0.07 Oz./ 2g) (x 3) and (0.28 Oz. / 8g) including the mini Nars Climax Mascara costs $49. The VIP Audacious Lipstick (0.14 oz./ 42g) originally costs $34. However, it is now on Sale for $25. This makes a lot of sense since the Holiday is two weeks away!
The Packaging For The Nars Au Soleil Face Set
To begin with The Au Soleil Face Palette comes in a black Nars case. Although,the lid of the case has raised raise, almost like half of a sunburst, in metallic bronze. Also,the case is a simple configuration, pull up to open,and snap to close. It is difficult to open if you have short nails.
Inside, underneath the lid, there is a full-sized mirror. On the other side are four pans. Three pans are the eyeshadows. The fourth pan is the same amount as three eyeshadows, with the bronzer in it.
It would have been nice if Nars had included a small applicator brush. 
The reason is, the set is great for travel. For one thing,the size of the square palette will fit in a handbag, or a travel cosmetic bag. And,you have part of your eyes, and a bronzer with you. Also,you have a mini version of Climax Mascara. Even more, the packaging is the same as the large Climax Mascara. To describe, it is a lacquered cherry red shade, with ridges in it.
The Packaging For The Nars VIP Audacious Lipstick
First, the outer box is metallic gold. Next, the rectangular-shaped bullet is also metallic gold. Even more, the lid has a magnetic closure. 
In this way,the lid can’t falloff, in your handbag, and get all over your handbag, and get yucky funkonit from inside your handbag!
The Formula For The Nars Au Soleil Face Palette
To start,the three eyeshadows are shimmers. Then, the bronzer is slightly shimmering. In fact,the shimmer is just enough to give you a glowing look.
To start, the eyeshadow formula includes micronized powder. As a result, the shadows are long-wearing. Even more, they feel good. Also, the shadow formula is crease resistant. Moreover, you can use the shades sheer. On the other hand, if you want more drama, layer the shadows.
Furthermore, the formula highlight in the Au Soleil eyeshadows is their Unique Glittering Finish. First, you can layer the glittering finish shades over other shades, for a sequin effect. Next, you can apply the shadows, wet, for a foiled metallic finish. The richly pigmented shades have a high-shine finish.
Also included in the formula, are ultra fine blends of shimmer, glitter and pearl. These ingredients reflect light for an eye catching effect.
Finely milled powders create the diffused bronzing powder.
The VIP Audacious Lipstick Formula
First, the Audacious Lipsticks dress your lips with bold coverage. Furthermore, the luxe texture smooths and nourishes your lips. I love this formula because it doesn’t dry out my lips. 
Also, the pigments create an opaque color with one swipe.
Climax Mascara Formula
First, Nars Lash Moisture Complex is a whipped formula. As a result, the mascara is creamy. Also, you can build the volume of your lashes with more than one coat. Additionally, the formula lifts and builds your lashes. Furthermore, the rich color of the mascara is an intense black shade that creates bold dimension. The thing I love most about the formula is it doesn’t clump and it doesn’t smudge. Moreover, your lashes will feel soft, not stiff. And, intense pigments will wrap your lashes from your lash-line to your lash tips.
The Nars Au Soleil Face Palette Shades
Eyeshadows
Bandol
First, Bandol, a warm brown shade, has a golden shimmery finish. First,you can wear this shade in the inner corners of your eyes. Also, highlight your brow bones with Bandol. Last,Wear this shade as a topper over another shade in your arsenal of shadows. One more way,is to wear the copper metallic shade in the center of your eyelids to make your eyes pop.
WAVE,AND UNBUTTONED
Ghost Wave
Next, Ghost Wave, a bronze shade, has a shimmering finish. First,I would wear this shade all over my eyelids. Also,you can wear this Bronze shade in your crease. Evenmore, use it to line your lower lash lines.
Unbuttoned
Finally, Unbuttoned,a deep brown shade,has a shimmering finish. I would wear this shade to line and define my eyes. Therefore, wear it in the crease of your eyes. Also, wear this deep brown shimmerin the outer corners of your eyes. Also,smoke it out. Then line your lower lash-lines with Unbuttoned.
Bronzer
Unleashed
Unleashed, a warm brown shade, gas a golden shimmering finish. First, wear this bronzer to add dimension and definition to your face. Therefore, wear Unleashed in the hollows of your cheeks. Then, wear it on both sides of your nose. Also sweep the bronzer on your temples,around your hairline, and under your chin.
The Nars VIP Audacious Lipstick Shades
To begin with, there are five shades in this collection. I purchased 3 shades, Barbara, Anita, and Audrey.
First, Barbara is a tan rose shade. Next, Anita is a rose shade. Finally, Audrey is a red-currant shade.
My Final Thoughts on The Nars Au Soleil Face Set and VIP Audacious Lipsticks……..
First, the Audacious Lipsticks dress your lips with bold coverage. Furthermore, the luxe texture smooths and nourishes your lips. I love this formula because it doesn’t dry out my lips. Also, the pigments create an opaque color with one swipe. I feel the same now as I did in 2018! The only difference is the packaging. The Holiday Packaging is gold metallic.
Next, the Nars Au Soleil Face Set is a warm bronzing palette, with three shimmering eyeshadows and a bronzer. Also included in the set is a mini Climax mascara! It happens to be a pretty,mid-sized palette. Even more, although there are no holiday bells and whistles, the palette is nice for our covid-19 circumstances.
Since we aren’t going on vacation to a tropical island this year, Nars gives you the palette that makes you, at least, look like you went somewhere!LOL
