Summer Is Here! What do you do when it’s so hot and humid, your eye shadows become paint puddle streaks? Makeup For Ever Aqua XL Color Paint Shadows ($24) won’t let you down. It is waterproof, so expect 24 hour wear-time no matter how hot and sweaty you are!
The color paint shadows are packaged like artist’s paint, in a squeeze tube. You squeeze the tube and the “paint” comes up into a little well in the applicator tip.
You can grab the “paint” with a brush, or your finger. You can also mix shades together in the well. You be the artist!
The Aqua XL Color Paint Shadows come in three finishes. Twelve shades are matte, four shades are satin, and four shades are shimmer finishes. Twenty shades in all which gives you a great range of color choices.
I purchased two shimmers which have iridescent finishes, and one matte shade. The shimmers are on the nude side, but the iridescence gives them a lot of zip.
I-80 is an iridescent pink beige shade.
The paint comes to the white tip when you squeeze the tube. It has a well in the applicator, where the paint can sit until you use fingers, or a brush to retrieve and apply it.

M-24 is a matte turquoise shade. This was my pop of color shade. 
The Aqua XL Color Paint Shadows are easy to apply, like a powder, in a creamy texture. The texture makes it easy to blend the shadows. They are ultra pigmented. They are waterproof, and will give you 24 hour wear-time. They are easy to layer. They are smudge proof and crease resistant. I must admit, they last so long, they don’t want to come off, which means that they are a bit difficult to remove. Use something like It makeup remover to gently remove them. The tubes are not as small as you think, because a little of this, just a dab, goes a long way! You’ll have this for a long time. I love the shades I purchased, so I am excited to try the satin finish.
Today I was in Sephora King of Prussia for a VIP Rouge Fall preview. It wasn’t as exciting as the one last year, I think it was too early for the Fall releases, so there was very little in the color department, and way too early in the morning for me! Luckily, my girlfriend, and partner in makeup crime, is a real early riser, so we actually made it on time! 8:30 AM. the mall wasn’t even opened yet.
They were giving mini-makeovers, and thankfully, Meredith, the best makeup artist in the universe, was there, and available to play with me. When we were walking around, she took me over to these Makeup For Ever XL Color Paints, and she agrees that they are amazing. She loves using them in her makeovers. I think I purchased them the last time I was there visiting.
