Poppy King, better known as The Lipstick Queen, has changed the game on us! She went from her most popular Fairytale, Frog Prince, a green lipstick that transforms from the green “frog” to the perfect lipstick shade, adjusting to the ph level of your lips, to the very sophisticated game of Chess! Is she growing up before our eyes?
Her packaging is awesome!
Even the tubes of lipstick are quite serious, and sophisticated. The black, or white, lacquered tubes are a simple, and chic design. I love that she used both black tubes with white accents, and white tubes with black accents, just game pieces on a black and white chess board! The Lipstick Queen Lipstick Chess Pieces ($24) are the newest shades from Lipstick Queen for 2017.
Not only does each lipstick represent a chess piece, Poppy King gave each lipstick it’s own personality. From the bottom to the top :
The Queen – a shade of ruby-red with a personality described as Supreme.
The Pawn – a Loyal Subject in a nude shade.
The Bishop – is Determined in mauve shade.
The King – a Noble personality with a rich berry shade.
The Knight – is Courageous in a mocha shade.
The Rook – is Unpredictable, in a deep plum shade.
I originally purchased 4 shades, The Queen, The Bishop, The Pawn, and , but I loved them so much, I went back and purchased the King!
I love everything about this lipstick. The formula is matte with a suede-like texture. It is richly pigmented, just one swipe and you’re at opaque! It is long-wearing enough, just reapply after you eat or drink! I love to reapply the chess pieces, because the tube is just as attractive as the lipstick is beautiful! It has a smooth as silk finish. It feels good on the lips, and doesn’t dry them out. Oils, Waxes and Vitamin E are in the ingredients, for the purpose of hydrating and nourishing your lips! O.K., IT’S YOUR MOVE!
You Are Awesome!
