Mac cosmetics collaborated with Mattel for an upcoming Troll Movie with a complete line of bold lip glosses, lipsticks, eye shadows, pigments, glitters, and even some colored hair glazes. The muses of the line are the beloved wild haired dolls, with their rainbow hair, jeweled bellies, and lucky charms. Mac created Good Luck Trolls with some crazy hues that are as silly as the trolls themselves!
There are four Mac Lipstick shades in the Good Luck Trolls collection ($18). They are blue, lime green, peach, and pink. They range in matte, creamy and shimmer textures. They are highly pigmented. They apply evenly and they are semi-opaque. The lipstick I chose is called ‘Dance Off Pants Off”, which is a frosted hot pink that stayed on forever.
Swatch of Dance Off Pants Off is a frosted hot pink.

Along with the lipsticks there are three Lip Glosses in the Good Luck Trolls Collection ($17). They are “just a sheer hint of color”, and they range from pastel to iridescent colors with fine glitter in them. They change ever so slightly depending on your individual natural lip shade. I chose two colors.
Twerkoise is the blue lip gloss on the left.St. Germaine is the pink lip gloss on the right.
The color Twerkoise looks like an etherial shade of blue-;i;ac on the skin (lips).
St. Germaine makes the skin look the color of bubble-gum pink. Use these glosses to slightly alter the finish and colors of the lipsticks, either from the collection, or other lipsticks you already have.
Paradisco is a pinky-coral with pearl and frost, and Atlantic Blue is a bright cobalt blue.
Paradisco is a pin-coral frost, and Atlantic Blue is a smooth opaque matte cobalt blue.
It was more difficult for me to get a good color swatch of Paradisco on my arm. The color was more sheer compared to the Atlantic Blue. Also, Paradisco did not show up hardly at all on my suntanned skin. Thankfully, Pinky (my daughter in law) came back to pick up my granddog, Macie (who I nicknamed Moosey) who I was babysitting, and she helped me with the photographs and the swatches. Also, I forgot to mention, Pinky went with me to the Mac store to purchase other Mac products, when we ran across this collection. So I had my amazing advising assistant guiding me through the Troll products. So, god bless my little girl, she posed and took photos. Bobbie Jean was at a wedding! Paradisco showed up much better swatched on Pinky! Actually, both colors look great on Pinky. Actually, everything Pinky puts on looks great on Pinky! And That’s the Truth!
Would you believe my daughter-in-law was hesitant to look at the glitters? But, for me, they were the most fun part of the collection, When I tried them on, Pinky fell madly in love with them too! It never hurts to be a little adventurous, or need I say, outrageous, and daring? Right?
The Reflect Glitters come in two colors for the Lucky Troll Collection, ($22) and guess what? We each got both!
Double Gorgeous!
And then we learned a little trick with the glitters, that would make them adhere better to the skin, and enhance their color to the nth degree.
Well, Here is what you need to make the glitter amazing, and to make it stick to your whatever!
Spray some Mac mineral Charged Water($25) on your face. It is mineralized charged water and diamond powder that hydrates and energizes your skin. It creates a smooth surface for makeup adhesion. Use it alone, before makeup, and after to finish your makeup. It makes the glitter stick, and it enhances the color.
How beautiful is that???
And the piece de la resistance, and Pinky’s favorite I must add, are the 2 crazy colored hair sprays in the Good Luck Trolls Collection called Chroma Craze ($25).
The Pink Color is called Good Luck Locks.
How Awesome is Pinky’s Pink and Blue Hairdo?? We are so in love with it!
How awesome does Macie’s tail look in the Cobalt Blue Tease and Thank You! Macie is Pinky’s sidekick, and my granddogter, She loves to model, and she has a gorgeous summer haircut, but her tail is still as bushy as ever! And it has some blue highlights from Mac as well.
Loving the colors on both of my girls!
Pinky and I started our adventure in the Mac Store in our King of Prussia Mall. The wonderful Mac Makeup Artist Brittany played with us. At first when we heard the the words Trolls we could only think of the nostalgic, weird, and lovable dolls with the insane colored hair! We both were hesitant to even look at the collection. Brittany insisted that there were colors for both of us. When we actually saw the collection, there were some outrageous colors, but there were also some really pretty colors. When we started to play with the makeup, we really started to feel adventurous, and we even loved the glitters, and the kooky hairsprays. Sometimes, makeup should be fun, and that is exactly the way we feel about this collection. It is a lot of fun. Even Pinky’s hair looks amazing with some troll color added to it! As she herself said, “I’m was obsessed with it!” So if you see someone walking a white Samoyed with blue highlights in her tail, in a Park somewhere, and she herself has pink and blue highlights, stop and say hi to Pinky and Macie!
You are Awesome!
We love hearing from you. Please share your comments in the comment box! You inspire us too!
