KEVYN AUCOIN CONTOUR BOOK VOLUME 111

Kevyn Aucoin wrote the book on contouring.  As a matter of fact, there are three volumes of the Kevyn Aucoin Art of Contouring.  All three books give you detailed instructions and all the shades to redefine the look of your face.  First, you can make your cheekbones appear stronger.  Next, you can make your face look slimmer.  On the other hand, you can just create a more sculpted look.  Specifically,the  newest Contouring Book, the Kevyn Aucoin Contour Book Volume 111, launched on July 27th (which happens to be my birthday!)  In addition, Volume 111 features all three shades of Kevyn’s sculpting powder.  Also,  the book includes two new highlighter shades.  Additionally, the book includes a new Neo-Bronzer shade.

First of all, the packaging is completely different from the first two books.  To illustrate, Volume’s 1 and 2 really looked like books. First, they have covers that look like lizard skin.

On the other hand, Volume 111 looks more like a compact with makeup in it.  Furthermore, it has a cardboard cover.

Moreover, a hard, clear piece of plastic surrounds the palette.  The plastic does make the palette stronger and sturdier.

The best feature is the extra large mirror, that is inside the palette.

Kevyn Aucoin Contour Book Volume 111 Formula

Kevyn Aucoin was one of the greatest makeup artists of his time.  In fact, I would consider him a” rock star” makeup artist.  As a result, his makeup line is his legacy.  Therefore, without a doubt, his formulas are top notch!  First I’ll attest that his finely milled powders are outstanding.  Personally, I have been wearing his sculpting powders ever since sculpting became popular.  The sculpting powders include rich pigments which are buildable and blendable.  Also, the highlighters include high-impact pearl that bring shimmer to the face.  In addition, the Neo-Bronzer includes a highlighter, blush and bronzer.

The Sculpting Shades

There are three sculpting shades included in the Contour Book Volume 111.  First of all, these iconic sculpting shades are part of Kevyn Aucoin’s permanent collection.  The three shades are light, medium and dark sculpting shades. Use the sculpting shades to create face definition.  Therefore use the sculpting powders to define your cheekbones, thin out your nose, and use it in the crease of your eye to define your eyes.  I also apply sculpting powder in my hair-line on both sides of my face.  Furthermore, I also define my jaw with sculpting powder,

The Highlighters

There are two new highlighting shades.  First, Flash has a peachy undertone.  On the other hand, Beam is a soft gold shade.  The highlighters use crushed pearls to achieve a high-impact shimmer.  However, there is no glitter in the formula.  Use the highlighters to bring light to areas you want to highlight.  Use it on the high parts of your face, your cheekbones, the bridge of your nose, under your brow, on the middle of your forehead, in the middle of your chin, and on your Cupid’s bow.

The Neo-Bronzer

The Neo-Bronzer, Venice, is also a new shade.  The Neo-Bronzers include three shades, a highlighter, a blush, and a bronzer.  First, you can use it as a multidimensional blush by swirling the three colors together.  In addition, you can use it as  an all-over face color.  In this way, it will give you an incredible, natural-looking glow.  Also, you can use each of the shades separately.

I love the Contour Books.  First, they are easy to use when you travel.  Also, they are great to use when you are on the go.  Their size fits easily into a medium-sized handbag.  Most important, the book also includes instructions so you can learn to use the products to contour and highlight your face.  Volume 111 has all full-sized product.  Therefore, the book is worth the price.  And, it’s nice to have all of your “face products” in one place!
