I’ve been receiving the Ipsy Glam Bag Subscription for over a year now. I enjoy seeing what Ipsy’s trends and new products are each month. The June Glam Bag for 2017 is the “Volume Up” bag.
I have “unboxed” it for you to see if there are any samples, or deluxe sample items that are really new and exciting for the summer months.
Here they are. Five products are in each monthly bag, and they can be samples, deluxe samples, and if we are lucky, sometimes a full-sized product. And of course I can’t forget the adorable cosmetic bag that comes with the products inside each month. The bags are always different. This month’s bag is a voluminous opened set of lips on a polka-dot background in a canvas-like material. I love the Ipsy logo as the zipper pull!
I reached into the bag and the first product I found is a cream called Delectable. This is totally a new product for me. Delectable is a triple moisturizer body lotion with the delicious scent of coconut and cream. I did some research and discovered Delectable is by a brand called Cake Beauty, a newer brand that is cruelty free, and uses natural ingredients to create their driven formulas.
Some of the ingredients include shea butter, coconut oil and aloe vera. It is supposed to give us 3X the softness, smoothness, and richness than other creams. I used the cream after my shower, and it made my skin feel very smooth, and smell like coconuts and fresh cream. Delicious. I would definitely purchase this product.
Another product in the June Bag that I am totally unfamiliar with is Margaret Dabbs London Fabulous Hands and Feet. I had to look this one up as well, because I wasn’t sure what this was, it was hard to tell from the deluxe sample. It turns out that Margaret Dabbs is a London based nail expert. Fabulous Hands and Feet is a nail polish called Green Day Lily. Her polishes are more than just color, they have treatment ingredients that are good for your nails. Margaret formulates her products with botanicals, and never harsh chemicals. Wild Rose Botanical extract strengthens and protects nails from harsh chemicals. She names her polishes after beautiful botanical flowers. Green Day Lily is a teal blueish-green, not a polish that is in my comfort zone, but pretty enough for me to get out of my box and try it, at least on my toenails.
The other three products in the June Glam Bag are more familiar to me. Beauty Basics Travel Face Blender in pink is the perfect size to fit into your travel makeup bag. We can always use another beauty blender!
I am also very familiar with the Balm, a brand that frequents these glam bags. I love anything to do with makeup, so I am o.k. with that. In June’s bag, the Balm product .Instain. is a long wearing blush.
The Shade is called Pinstripe, and it is a Rose Gold shade, Rose Gold is a really popular makeup shade this year in everything from highlighters, blush to eye shadows and lip glosses.
Pur is also a brand I am familiar with. This mascara is really interesting, and has a great application brush. It is called Fully Charged Macara. It is an anti-aging mascara that has a revolutionary positively charged matrix that attract to each individual lash, to strengthen and thicken lashes as well as to lengthen and separate them.
How it works is, a unique magnetic force formula wraps a positive charged elastic veil around each lash to lift and separate them, which adds maximum volume without clumping. It is fortified with pro-vitamin B5 and Biotinoyl tripeptide -1 to help to condition and strengthen lashes to prevent lash loss. Carnauba and Beeswax set lashes for precise definition. To use, just place the wand brush at the base of the lashes, HOLD for 2-3 seconds to set, and then wiggle the wand in a back and forth motion. If you want to build more volume, and length, repeat. Like I said, I already fell in love with the brush, and the concept. With all of the mascaras out there, this one really sounds like it was totally based on scientific properties.
I liked that Ipsy introduced two new brands in this bag. I love the scientific concept of the Pur mascara. The Balm cheek stain in a sample size was a nice way to try their cheek products. I always love makeup tools included in the bags. The pink beauty blender included! What did you think of Ipsy’s June 2017 Beauty Glam Bag? Which products piqued your interest?
