To begin with, many of us might never have seen the limited edition, Huda Beauty Gold Obsessions Palette!  However, Cult Beauty had an exclusive on the Gold Obsessions Palette!  So, if we don’t know Cult Beauty, ( I think it is a British Website), then too bad for us!   Although, recently, Huda started selling the gold palette on her own website.  In fact, that is when I first heard about it.  Since I am a fan of Huda Beauty,  I have a few of  Huda Obsessions Eye Palettes, Nude Obsessions, and Mauve Obsessions, I was excited to try the exclusive Gold palette.  In fact, Huda, a fan of “golden glow”, created the Gold Obsessions Palette to “reflect the rare beauty” of her favorite stone, Honey Onyx.

You can find the Huda Gold Obsessions Palette on the Huda Beauty Website. And, you can still get it on the Cult Beauty Website.  And, the Gold Obsessions Palette ( 0.19 oz./ 5.4g) costs $29.

The Packaging For The Huda Beauty Gold Obsessions Palette

First, the outer box is clear plastic.  Next, the plastic gold palette lid is a rendition of the honey onyx stone. Even more, Honey Onyx, Huda’s favorite stone is a gorgeous Brazilian Onyx which has layers of caramel, tan, beige and ivory in a swirling design. Additionally, the snap and click palette is small and compact.  Therefore, this is an easy palette to travel with, and throw in your handbag.  In this way, you can apply your eyeshadow anywhere!

Once opened, the palette has a nice sized mirror underneath the lid. On the other side of the mirror, are nine eyeshadow pans, in rows of three.

The Formula For The Huda Beauty Gold Obsessions Palette

To start with, the nine eyeshadows come in three formulas.  First, three of the shades are created with the classic, creamy, and buttery matte formula.  Even more, the formula has rich pigments that are easy to blend.  Next, the metallic formula is a super, sparkly metallic foil.  Also, the metallic shades have great color payoff. Although,if you want more intensity, either use a damp brush,or your fingers to apply. Then, the Shimmer Topper formula is a peachy-gold pearlescent highlight for a soft, luminous glow. The shades that have a shimmer finish are sheer. For more intensity, use your finger, and apply two layers.  Last, an all new Texture Formula, a light pink shimmery base sprinkled with glitzy gold flakes.HUDA BEAUTY GOLD OBSESSIONS PALETTE SWATCHES

In addition, the shadows are long-wearing, lasting all day, or all night.

Again, the pans are arranged in three rows of three.

Top Row Across (left, middle right)

Top Row Left Shade

First, the Top Row Left, a peach shade, has a shimmering finish.  Therefore, the peach shimmer shade has sheer pigments.  One, you can wear this shade at a topper, over another shade.  Two, you can wear the pink shimmer as a highlighter, on your brow bones, and on the inner corners of your eyes.  Also, if you want to make the topper/highlighter more intense, continue to add layers.

Top Row Middle Shade

Next, the Top Row Middle, an apricot shade, has a matte finish.  First, wear the matte as a base shade, all over your eyelids. This is a warm apricot. Two layers will give you good color-payoff.

Top Row Right Shade

Last, the Top Row Right Shade, a light antique gold shade, has a shimmering finish.  For one thing, this is a very sheer shade.  Therefore, you’ll need to layer it for a little more color.  I would wear this shimmering topper over another color.

Middle Row Across (left, middle, right)

Middle Row Left Shade

To begin with, the Middle Row Left Shade, a chocolate brown shade, has a matte finish.  First, this chocolate brown matte shade is richly pigmented.  Also, it is the deepest shade in the palette.  As a result, this shade should be used to line your eyes, and define your eyes.  Therefore, line your lower lash line, the outer corners of your eyes, and use it in your crease.

Middle Row Middle Shade

Next, the Middle Row Left Shade, a medium bronze shade, with olive undertones, has a multicolor metallic finish.  First, I would wear this metallic shade, all over my eyelids.  Evenmore, I would use a damp brush, and wear this bronze shade as a liner, to line my lower lash line.

Middle Row Right Shade

Last, the Middle Row Right Shade, a praline shade, has a matte finish.  First, wear this shade all over your eyelids, as a base shade. Then, use a topper if you want to add some sparkle.

Bottom Row Across (left to right)

Bottom Row Left

First, the Bottom Row Left is the ALL-NEW texture of pink and gold that’s literally been sprinkled with gold flakes for a lustrous, shimmering finish. One, use your fingers to apply this one!  Further, this is a semi-opaque shade that has chunky flakes in it.  Therefore, wear it over a matte shade, as a topper.

Bottom Row Middle

Next, the Bottom Row Middle, a pink gold shade, has a shimmering finish.  Again, the sheer pigments makes this shade a perfect topper, over one of your matte shades.  Although, if you add a layer, you can wear this shade as a highlighter, on your brow bones, and on the inner corners of your eyes.

Bottom Row Right

Last, the Bottom Row Right, a yellow-gold shade, has a metallic finish. Wear this yellow gold metallic shade all over your eyelids.

My Final Thoughts on the Huda Beauty Gold Obsessions Palette…….

First, I think this is a beautiful palette.  I love the colors!  One shade I didn’t understand was the new formula shade, with the thick flakes in it. HUDA BEAUTY GOLD OBSESSIONS PALETTE SWATCHES I didn’t like the way it applied, it didn’t go on smoothly.  Otherwise, the toppers are beautiful. Also, the two metallic shades were great.  And, I loved the matte shades.  I felt the formula, creamy, buttery, describes them perfectly!  So, If you are a collector, or just love gold eyeshadow palettes, this is a good one to have.  Also, I love that it is compact, and very portable.
