If you are on the go, and looking to do your face in 5 minutes, or less, Charlotte Tilbury’s 5 Minute Face Smokey Eye Beauty Palette ($75) ,exclusively at Beautylish (for the time being), was designed just for you. Actually, the 5 Minute Face Palette Smokey Eye Beauty is Charlottes’s fourth Instant Look On The Go Palette. (For more about the other 3 palettes click here , here, and here).
Five Minute Face Smokey Eye Palette Packaging
Since this is the “On The Go” palette, the actual design of the palette is perfect for travel, or to carry in your handbag. Also, Charlotte included a palette-sized mirror for easy application. However, the one piece that is missing from the palette is a two-sided brush. For example, one side could be an eyeshadow brush, the other side could be a face brush, to apply cheeks, highlighter, and a bronzer.
As it stands right now, you really need to carry a traveling brush set. Possibly, you could use your fingers to apply the shadows. However, it would be difficult to apply the powdered cheeks, highlighter and bronzer with your fingers. Hence, whenever you have five minutes to spare, you can apply your “face” look.
There are seven pans included in the palette. First, there are three eye shadows. Second, there are two blushers. Third is a bronzer. And last, is a highlighter. All of these powders are labeled for use, and numbered. Interestingly, you are supposed to “paint by numbers” , or at least follow the numbers for the order in which to apply your makeup.
5 Minute Face Smokey Eye Palette Formula
Two different textures formulate this palette. Primarily, the “colored pigmented powders” are matte. Besides the matte shades, the two highlighters are shimmers. All of the powders appear to be richly pigmented. At any rate, the actual colors are very wearable. First, the formulas create smooth, soft powders. Therefore, the powders seamlessly blend together. However, expect some kick up in the pan and fallout from these powders. They are not what I would call creamy. Also, because the colors are powdery, their longevity is questionable. For this reason, prior to applying the palette shades, I suggest wearing a primer, like Charlotte’s Wonder Glow, for longer wear-time.
5 Minute Face Smokey Eye Palette Shades
Eyes
1 – Brighten is a pale champagne shimmer. First, Use it to prime the surface of the eyelid prior to applying other shadows. Also apply it to brighten the eye, on the brow bone, or the inner corners.
2 – Enhance is a new matte medium-brown shade. Primarily use this shade to add definition to the eye. An Example, I would use this shade in the eye crease.
3 – Smoke is a velvet matte charcoal black shade. Also, I see a hint of dark navy blue in the pan. Clearly, this shade should be used to define the eye. Moreover, Smoke is the shade you would use to create a smokey look. Therefore, I would smoke it out until your heart’s content!
Face Bronze
Face Bronze is the Original Film Star Bronze and Glow. Still, this sun-kissed bronzer is a fan-favorite. Specifically , I suggest using this shade to sculpt your features. For example, use this shade in the hollows of your cheek bones, because it will define them. Also use this on your jawline. Finally, I use this shade to define my nose shape.
Cheeks
5 – Cheek Swish is a peachy bronze shade. First, I would swipe Swish across the cheek bone. Then I would blend it in for a radiant look.
6 – Cheek Pop is a natural rose shade. Specifically, using this shade on the apples of your cheeks will result in giving you a healthier looking flush of color.
Highlighter
Charlotte included her Cult Classic, Bar of Gold, Highlighter in this palette. Bar of Gold is the palest yellow-gold shade. First, the highlighter looks sheer. Further, it is an extremely wearable shade, and it acts like Candlelight for your skin. First, apply the highlighter to the outer C section of your cheekbones. Next, apply it to the center of your nose. Further, place the highlighter on your Cupid’s bow. Finally, I love to use highlighter on the inner corners of my eyes.
The 5 minute Face Palette on the Go Smokey Eyes is almost all you will need to create a Smokey Eye Look. You still need to complete your look. Therefore, finish the look with lipstick, mascara, and eye liner. If you wear a foundation, apply it after you’ve applied a primer. Have fun with your Smokey Eye!
