Madison Reed The Great Cover UP

FaceMakeupPowderWhatever

I used to get my hair blown out twice a week.  Every three or four weeks, I had my hair colored.  Then, when Covid 19 came, and we were locked down, the first thing I thought about was how was I going to get my hair colored.  My girlfriend told me to go online to Madison Reed, and take their quiz, and they would pick the right color for me.  O.K., I did that, and learned to color my own hair.  But, I didn’t want to color it too often.  So, by the end of week two, I started to see some stray greys.  YOU know, that is the beginning of the end.  The Greys grow faster, and there is more of them, every day after that.  I try to hold off for as long as I can stand it, before I color it again.  I purchased hair mascara, which was really messy. I remember hugging somebody, and when I looked at them, my hair mascara was all over their face!  I tried color sprays, that didn’t dry down too well. Especially, not realizing I was touching my scalp, I would look down and my fingers would be all black.  So, I tried Madison Reed “The Great Cover UP!”

The Great Cover Up is a root touch up and brow filler that buys you more time before you have to color your hair.  It is the easiest thing in the world to use.  There is no mess at all!  It Covers your roots instantly. It is “Makeup” for your hair!!!

You can find the Madison Reed Great Cover UP at Ulta and on the Madison Reed Website.  The Root and Brow Great Cover Up (0.13 oz. / 3.6 g ) costs $32.

The Madison Reed outer box is recyclable. Even more, the plastic compact is made with 50% post-consumer recycled materials. The Compact Is a deep shade of metallic purple, with white writing.  The lid lifts up to open. The compact has a magnetic closure. Inside, underneath the lid, is a full-sized square mirror.  On top it says “Hello Beautiful!”  On the other side of the compact is a rectangular pan with the hair powder.  Also, there is a thin well, that holds the eyebrow applicator. The applicator is dual-ended, purple metallic, with a small eyebrow brush on one end, and a spoolie on the other end. Next to the eyebrow applicator is a rectangular well that holds the application brush for your hair.  The bristles are tight together, stiff yet soft to the touch.  The brush has a purple handle , that matches the compact.  The case is small, has a mirror, and applicators, which makes it Travel Worthy.

The formula is rain-proof, sweat-proof, and pillow-proof (which means it doesn’t come off in your pillow.). Also, the formula includes micro-milled pigments that give hair dynamic, natural-looking depth, and creates great coverage that will last til your next hair wash.  The powder formula is enriched with hair-loving ingredients-nutrients, keratin, argan oil, and ginseng root extract.  Madison Reed refers to these ingredients as Triple Hair Complex. The powder covers your grey hairs, roots, areas of baldness, instantly.  It sets instantly.  It makes no mess.  And,it doesn’t make your hair sticky.

The formula is free of titanium dioxide, parabens, gluten, and SLS.

The Great Cover Up comes in seven shades.  I have the darkest brown, black hair.

Swatch: Black

So, I use the color called Universal Black.

The other colors are: Light-Blond which has 2 colors in the compact, for highlights and lowlights.  The other shades are Red, Light Brown, Light Golden Brown, Medium Brown, and Dark Brown.

I depend on this powder, so I don’t have to color my hair every two weeks.  Instead, I actually can wait another two weeks before I really need to color my hair. Remember, grey roots mixed into black hair is really noticeable.  So, this powder is a savior.
