Have you heard of makeup designer Terry du Gunzburg?   I am certain you know her famous invention, Touche Eclat, the click concealer pen  that she invented for YSL cosmetics in 1992, which today is still a cult favorite in the world of makeup.  Terry began her own makeup line, By Terry, in 1998.  By Terry is a high end luxury line that has brought the same luxury and standards  to makeup and skincare that haute couture brought to fashion.   By Terry‘s newest product for spring/summer 2016 is  a two palette collection, the Sun Designer Palette 1 -Tan and Flash Cruise, and Sun Designer Palette 2 – Light and Tan Vibe.(Barney’s.com $82.00)

The palette  comes in the By Terry purple palette.  The cover of the palette has a geometric design of copper and white zig-zags.  The palette also is in a purple velvet pouch, the typical pouch that comes with all luxury  brands.  When opened, a mirror the size of  the top of the palette is on one side, the zig-zag colors are on the bottom of the palette.

Sun Designer Palette 1-Tan and Flash Cruise is the palette that I tried.  It is my favorite of the two, because it gives some oomph to my olive complexion. There is a right side which has a highlighter and two bronzers. And there is a left side with three blush colors.  There are six sparkling shades for you to play with and use to enhance the appearance of your skin.  Each individual shade is in an individual pan.  The pans are separated with black lines, which differentiate the zig-zag puzzle pieces which are connected together.  This  zig-zag pattern of the individual colors remind me of puzzle pieces that when fit together create the whole picture. I wonder if this analysis is what Terry had in mind when she went with this design. The puzzle colored pieces may be used individually as a blush, an eye shadow, a highlighter, a bronzer, or a contour color.  The colors individually go together perfectly.  When the three colors are swiped together, they create a whole new color, a blush, or a bronzer. It is this aspect of the palette, when the puzzle pieces can be used as one new color, that the picture is finished and the puzzle is complete! Maybe I am thinking too deeply about this?

Sun Designer Palette 2-Light and Tan vibes is a neutral palette.  It has a peachy, bronze tonal vibe.  The blush colors are a dewy tanned  bronze shimmer, a peachy-rose shimmer, and a creamsicle peach shimmer.  The bronze colors are a matte warm beige, a peachy cocoa matte, and a shimmery brownish bronze.  These tonal colors will definitely help accentuate your suntanned skin.

We should all take some of Terry’s advice.  Her beauty philosophy has always been less is more.  She encourages women to play with today’s trends and adapt them to their everyday life.  She loves the look of perfect skin, plumped lips and sparkling eyes.  She advises women to wear red lips with a big smile to fight a dull complexion.  She has outdone herself with these two palettes.  She has created delicate, soft and airy textures in both matte and satin shimmer colors that are meant to blend together and be layered to create an all over sun-kissed radiance that will work on all complexions.  The colors in both palettes are gorgeous, and the quality of the formulas is totally luxurious.  Is it worth the splurge?  Yeeeeeeeeeeeeees it is!
