Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation is lightweight and gives a velvety, luminous, natural-looking finish.
I was at a Sephora Early Holiday Rouge Event over the weekend. Let me back up, our King of Prussia Sephora moved to a new space, which is fabulous, and because they are considered a Mid-Atlantic Sephora, they are the top Sephora in that area. Hence to reward our Sephora, and the move to a slightly larger space, they are able to carry new brands, and Giorgio Armani is one of them. And more of my favorites,Natasha Denona, Huda, and Tom Ford are new as well!
My girlfriend Randi joined me at 8 o’clock in the morning, and she was in desperate need of a new foundation. So, that is where our favorite Makeup Artist extraordinaire and so lovable (we adore her!) ,Meredith, after giving us a tour of the new store, took us over to the Armani foundations. And there were many different formulas in the Armani Line to choose from. If you want an SPF and a Great Armani Primer (click here). Because of my dry skin, Meredith chose Armani’s Luminous Silk foundation in shade 6.
There are 24 shades in the Luminous Silk Foundation Formula. I didn’t want a matte foundation, I love the radiant finish of a foundation that gives a good glow. And, shade six was uber perfect for me right now, Shade six is for medium skin with a golden undertone. Since I still have summer-skin, and will be going forward into fall, this shade was the best of the best. Actually, I think it is the best match of any foundation I have ever had.
According to Mr. Armani, the Luminous Silk Foundation Formula was “inspired by the way he chooses his fabrics, they allow the natural glow of the skin to come through regardless of how many layers of product you need to apply .” The formula is called “Microfil” technology. It is a low density formula that includes pairing high-impact pigments with weightless texture. The finish was inspired by “silk shantung that was worn by kings and emperors, the formula glides on seamlessly, and leaves a silk charmeuse finish”.
One or two pumps, and Meredith used the coolest Sephora Foundation brush, to apply the Luminous Silk Foundation on my face. When I applied it later that evening, I used my fingers, and it appeared to be a teeny bit runny. Just remember, a little will go a long way. Also, it is easy to build layers with this formula if you want more coverage. I think it gives an airbrushed-looking coverage.
The heart shaped swatch was incidental, and was a more perfect heart for a second, as it began to slowly run down my arm.
As I softly rubbed the foundation into my arm, I noticed how easily it began to melt into my skin. It feels silky and lightweight.
Not only was this shade the most perfect match for my skin, it made my skin look airbrushed and flawless. It is like a blurring product, such as a blurring stick, or powder, without the stick or powder, therefore doesn’t look cakey, and also blurs imperfections. And it gave my dry skin a beautiful, healthy glow that had an almost supernatural look to it. If you want to try Giorgio Armani’s Luminous Silk Foundation, (click here $64).
