Chanel’s Le Rouge Le Collection is all about the ‘Reds’. Lucia Pica, Italian makeup artist, and now the new global creative and color designer for Chanel, is known for her fearless use of color. Since bold pops of color are her thing, be prepared to see a bold lineup of epic new colors in her future collections. )I can’t wait! I love color!) Lucia highlights her first collection using the color red . Red was Coco Chanel’s favorite color. She wore red on a regular basis, from her bikinis, to her shiny red lips. To pay homage to Mlle. Chanel, who penned the expression, “RED RULES”! Lucia Luca chose red to RULE her first Chanel collection; Le Rouge Le Collection No.1. Lucia encompasses every tone of red from fire-engine-red, to deep russet in this collection. What makes Lucia Luca exciting is her genius with the provocative way she pairs her shades. It is “out of the box”, and refreshing. She makes this obvious with her eye-shadow quad in the red collection, where she pairs the colors of warm browns and then she throws a daring red into the mix. Very Avant – Guard I must say. I love it!
I love blush, so I opened Joues Contraste Powder Blush in 320-Rouge Profond($45), and was thrilled to see a gorgeous red blush, with deep warm red undertones and a semi matte finish.
It is nicely pigmented, and gives a semi-opaque finish that is easily buildable to achieve an opaque finish. The blush has a smooth texture, and it felt silky when I touched it. It also blended out easily.
The Blush Rouge Profond is what I like to think of as an elegant red. It gives the look that you were out playing in the leaves on a chilly November day. It is a perfect fall blush-color!
Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow in 268 Candeur Et Experience ($61)is evidence of Lucia Pica’s love of provocative shade pairings. The three brown colors are very warm-toned. The pop of color, Red, in the quad can be combined with the browns to lend a copper shade. Red is a gorgeous shade for this fall. You can use it as a contrast color. In fact, Chanel offers suggestions on how to use the palette.
Top right Swatch on Arm and Top Right Color in Palette is a semi-matte warm beige. it is the lightest color in the group of four. You can wear this as a highlighter, and you can use it all over your lid and under your brow.
Top Left Swatch on Arm and Top Left Color in Palette is a warm, dusty brick red. This color can be used for shading and for contour. You can also mix it with the other colors.
Bottom Left Swatch on Arm and Bottom Left Color in Palette is a warm suede brown medium shade that is great for contouring.
Bottom Right Swatch on Arm and Bottom Right Color in Palette is the darkest shade of chocolate, a dark warm brown that can be intensified and used as an eye liner.
These colors will easily give you an avant-guard effect this fall!
Chanel Illusion D’Ombre Velvet EyeShadow limited editions in Brule and Contrast ($36) have an innovative texture and can be worn as an eye shadow or an eye shadow base. It includes a special applicator mad exclusively for the velvet eye shadow. These gel creams are soft and cushiony.
Rouge Contrast 132 is a Matte luminous longwear eyeshadow. It is very pigmented, and intense enough to wear as an eyeliner. It is a Warm Dark Red-Brown.
Rouge Brule is a medium-dark copper with warm undertones and a pearl sheen. It is highly pigmented, and wears well, and is long lasting.
Both colors are limited editions. They are packed with a lot of pigment, and can be worn intensely because of the good color payout. They are dramatic, versatile, easy to smudge, easy to blend, long-lasting and easy to remove. Their texture felt wet to the touch, but dried within seconds. it didn’t crease and it didn’t fade throughout the day!The gel-cream formula is simply delicious! Love this!
Rouge Allure Velvet in Ingenue, Vie and Charnel ($37) is the next generation matte lipstick. It glides on and is intense, soft, and has a velvet matte finish. It is a long-wearing color. The forumula is really rich, and you get an intense color saturation, a smooth application and a gorgeous velvet finish that would make Coco Chanel proud!
Try the Le Crayon Levres, Crayon Contour Des Levres Precision Lip Definer in Seduction ($31).
Chanel Agape 929 and Eros 928 Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long-lasting Eyeliner ($33).
These eyeliners are waterproof and long-lasting. They wind up and down. They go on smoothly without tugging the eye, and they are smudge proof. The colors go well with the new fall collection. Eros is a brown with purple undertones in it. Agate is a warm, medium brown with a touch of pink.
Le Crayon Levres is a Precision Lip Liner that will give lips perfect, precision definition. The formula of the pencil is a dreamy- creamy texture. It provides a full, long lasting color with a semi-matte finish. The lip pencil glides on your lips, and makes certain that your lipstick will not feather nor smudge. It leaves lips with a satin-matte effect. It has vitamin E in it to protect the lips from free radicals. It has a built in brush and the perfect sharpener for that perfect point every time you need it,is also included.
What I love about Chanel’s new Collection Le Rouge Le Collection No.1 is……..Lucia Luca created a wonderful collection for fall 2016. She definitely used the right color to showcase her first collection, the color Red. It represents the visual strength of the collection, the visceral emotions the collection brings out in all of us, and it still has a classic appeal. I think Lucia Luca’s No.1 collection brings out the true qualities that created the Coco Chanel enigma which mesmerizes us to this very day. She was powerful, fierce, sexy, mysterious, and strong. This collection brings out that mood within us because it represents the real Mlle. Chanel and what she was all about. I don’t think she meant for us to yearn for those expensive quilted handbags bags, you know the ones, everyone with a few dollars walks around with a bag with a status C on it! That is not what you would call being original, or authentic. Women consider them status, and woman who uses status to become part of a group, instead of having her own taste, and ideas is just a robot who is pretty mediocre. It makes her feel special. She no longer has the confidence to think for herself. The status symbol is her crutch to make her feel good and have confidence in herself. It doesn’t work. Coco Chanel was authentic and she wanted women to be unstoppable, authentic, individual, and unique…..she wanted them to be themselves, to be real. In her own words, Mlle. Chanel advised women to put their lipstick on and………..Attack. She didn’t want us walking around with C uniforms on! Be original! It is so much more fun, and so much more real. Ms. Luca did just that to inspire us with this collection. I get a good feeling about the future of Chanel Cosmetics. I think Ms. Luca has what it takes to create very exciting, unique and daring collections in the future. I look forward to them. Here is to the Future of Chanel Cosmetics! If Lucia Luca continues creating collections as impressive as her first No.1 collection, she will undoubtedly be a huge success!
