Byredo Lipsticks Are Really Cool

LipsMakeup

I’m really into the awesome Byredo makeup!  Last October 2020, Byredo, a popular Swedish Fragrance Brand, launched their Makeup Line.  I know you must be thinking that the world really doesn’t need another makeup line right now!  However, Byredo teamed up with British Makeup artist, Isamaya Ffrench, and created a line of makeup that is unique. So far, the new line has introduced a mascara, an eyeliner., three 5-color eyeshadow palettes, and multipurpose colors sticks. The colors sticks really rocked my world. They are a universal, multitasking color.  Also, the sticks come in a multitude of gorgeous shades that can be used as eyeshadow, blush, highlighter, and lipstick.  The sticks are an example of the brand mission, to push the boundaries of creativity!  Finally, today I am going to show you some really cool Byredo lipsticks.  The lipstick comes in lots of shades, and have satin or matte finishes.

You can find the Byredo LIpsticks at Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, Saks Fifth Avenue, Selfridges, and on the Byredo Website. The Byredo LIpstick ( 0.1 oz. / 2.83 g) costs $42.

Packaging

The packaging for the entire Byredo Makeup Line, which the brand describes as having “alluring shapes, and chic-looking metals!”  According to the creators of the line, ” the color story and high quality of materials are all essential elements, …but so are the objects that “contain” the cosmetics.  Therefore, each product is packaged in what is considered an Object D’Art. So, instead of looking at the cases as something you’ll toss, the packaging is the form and function of the product.  As a result, it is vital to the product itself.  And, the packaging is so unique, and so beautiful, you aren’t gonna toss it anytime soon!  Even more, the packaging is a real, visible, personal and sensual object that you can carry around with you.

First, the lipstick comes packaged in a stark white, rectangular box with black writing.  The box has a “drawer” that slides out.  The lipstick in in that drawer, in its very own dust bag.   The dust bag , stark white with a black B, is shaped like a sack.  And the sack has two loops of black heavy string,  to close the dust bag.  Pull on the loops on either side of the bag, and the bag will close on top.

The lipstick case is exceptional. It is bi-color metal, in silver and gold.  The case is “curvilinear”, an organic shape, that feels weighty and substantial. The form for the lipstick , inspired by bamboo, is bringing the cases of lipsticks, from the past and present, into the future.  Finally, there is a B embossed on top of the lipstick. The lipstick is a slim-line, precision stick. The case has a magnetic closure, which protects the lipstick inside.

Formula

ingredients: Top-Red & Blue, Middle – La Flame, Bottom- Subtropical

The lipstick pigments give your lips excellent color payoff.  There are two finishes, depending on the shade, or shades, you choose.  I pretty much stuck with the satin finish.  Although, I purchased one matte shade.  The satin finished shades felt balmy-like, with a thickness to the formula, and the lipsticks are really creamy and moisturizing.  They feel good on the lips.  They were long-wearing.  Also, they didn’t dry out my lips.  The matte shade was not as moisturizing as the satin shades, obviously, we are talking matte here, however the matte didn’t feel bad at all. Even more, the lipsticks give you one swipe and your done, coverage.  Although, they are buildable.  The lipsticks smell like lipstick. When I licked my lips, the lipstick tasted sweet.

Top- Damson Jam, Middle- Amber in Furs,
Bottom- Earth Dust

Byredo uses ethical ingredients.  The lipsticks glide on your lips for an easy application.

Shades

The shades come in matte and satin finishes, dependant upon the shade you choose.

Matte

La Flame
The center shade is La Flame

La Flame, an orange shade, with a touch of black, has a matte finish.  This is a favorite, because I love  bright orangey-red shades.  The black in the shade draws some hint of red in the shade.  So, it is not a full-on orange shade.

Satin

Left : Damsnon Jam, Middle: Amber in Furs
Right:Earth Dust

My Satin LIpsticks are Earth Dust, Subtropical, Amber Furs, Damson Jam, and  Red with Blue.

Earth Dust

Earth Dust, a pale nude shade with yellow undertones, has a satin finish. This shade is neutral, a your lips but better!

Subtropical

Subtropical, a vivid cold orange shade, has a satin finish. This is a bright orange summertime shade, that will look amazing with a tan.  I’d wear all black, and make this pop of orange the only color.  Show it off!

Amber Furs

Amber Furs, a warm nude shade, has a shimmery satin finish.  This shade reflects light and creates depth.  Really pretty.

Damson Jam

Damson Jam, a high intensity pink-plum shade, has a shimmering satin finish.  This is another shade that reflects light and creates depth.

Red With Blue

Red & Blue, a red shade with blue undertones, has a satin finish.  Everyone needs a good red!  This is a real must have for your lip wardrobe.

My Final Thoughts

I don’t know what I like more, the colors, the formulas, or the packaging.  The Packaging Is captivating, and unique!I love the organic, metal shape of the lipstick case!  It is a piece of art , a collectors item!  The shades are beautiful! I rarely think nudes look good on me.  The two nudes I purchased are spot on!  I’m in love with them.  I haven’t taken Earth Dust  off all day!  And,it really lasts a long time.  Finally, The Formula is very luxurious!  And, as for the price?  $42 is a really good price for these lipsticks!
