Summer is not the time to wear a heavy foundation. The heavy coverage foundation that helped you through the winter might not agree with your skin once sweat starts to roll down your face. As a result, you’ll need to change your formula! Although, , you could wear a tinted moisturizer. But, if you need more color correction, you should use a lighter foundation. So, I suggest one with a featherweight, lighter formula. Even more, , your skin is lighter in the winter. In other words, you’ll need to change the color of your foundation to accommodate your sun-kissed skin. Therefore, Ilia True Skin Serum Foundation may be a good choice for you. First, it nurtures your skin with botanical, clean ingredients. Therefore, the formula is part skincare. Furthermore, it color-corrects your skin. In addition, it will illuminate your skin. As a result, your skin will look like your skin, but better!
Packaging For The Ilia True Skin Serum Foundation
To begin with, the Clean Beauty Brand, Ilia, is concerned about the environment. As a result, the Serum/Foundation comes in recyclable, more sustainable packaging. Therefore they use recycled aluminum, glass components, and responsibly sourced paper. They do not want anything of theirs to end up in a landfill.
Even more, the foundation/ serum comes in a frosted glass bottle. In addition, the bottle has a pump dispenser. I appreciate pump dispensers for two reasons. First, the pump is mess-free! And, second, the pump measure the exact amount of the product you need. So, if you want more coverage, all you need to do is use another pump.
The Formula For The Ilia True Skin Serum Foundation
First of all, the Serum Foundation is not a full-coverage foundation. Instead, it gives you a light to medium coverage. Hence, the formula is buildable. It does melt into your skin. Also, it is easily applied, as it glides on your face.
Next, the formula is a hybrid, consisting of equal parts skincare and color correction. On one had, the formula soothes irritation, soothes your skin, and tones your skin. On the other hand, it minimizes the look of pores, and blurs imperfections.
Some ingredient Highlights For Ilia True Skin Serum Foundation
To start, the formula includes Aloe Vera. Aloe Vera soothes and nurtures the skin. In addition, it binds moisture to your skin.
Next, Mastic refines the look of pores. Furthermore, it helps keep oil from your skin at bay.
Furthermore, Plant-based Squalane, a skin quencher, locks hydration in.
In addition, the formula includes Rosehip, Jojoba, and Marula oils.
Above all, the formula is vegan, cruelty-free and gluten free.
The Ilia True Skin Serum Foundation Shades
Ilia True Skin Serum Foundation comes in 18 shades. The shades range from the lightest light to the deepest deep. Furthermore, the shades come in an array of undertones, from neutral, to cool, warm, golden, and peachy. I am medium with neutral undertones. The color I purchased is Chios SF6. And, it turned out to be the perfect shade. All of the shades have a satin finish. Your skin looks radiant. What it isn’t is dewy. We’ll leave that to the tinted moisturizers.
How To Apply The Ilia True Skin Serum Foundation
To apply the Serum Foundation, first you can wear a primer, or moisturizer, or both. Right now I am loving Victoria Beckham’s Victoria Beckham Rejuvenating Priming Moisturizer. Next, put one or two pumps of foundation on your hand.
Then, either with your fingers, or a foundation brush, start in the center of your face and work outwards. It may feel a bit tacky. If it does feel tacky, press the palms of your hands to your face. In this way, you’ll melt the product into your skin. Also, you’ll smooth your skin. Once it melts into your skin, it will feel weightless.
My Final Thoughts On The Ilia True Skin Serum Foundation
This is the perfect summer foundation. It’s lightweight. Also, it is hydrating, And, it gives your skin radiance. It’s not a full-coverage foundation.
Although, you don’t need full-coverage in the summer. Instead, you want your skin to look like skin, only better! Right?
Even more, it’s nice to have high-end skincare ingredients in my foundation. Also, I love that this brand is all about Clean ingredients. Finally, the formula is amazing if your skin is dry, or you have combination skin. However, if your skin is oily, this may not work for you.
