Tom Ford Holiday 2022 Soleil Neige Eyeshadow Quads Apres Ski and Chalet Lust

Tom Ford Holiday Collection fo 2022 includes two Soleil Neige Eyeshadow Quads,  01 Apres Ski and 02 Chalet Lust., and Soleil Neige Lip Blush Lip Balm .  It isn’t the first time TF has done a Soleil Neige Themed Holiday release.  I can remember back, at least as far as 2019, when Soleil Neige was the theme for the Tom Ford holiday collection.  Inspiration for  02 Chalet Lust is the reflection of sunlit snow casting a crystalline glow on skin, and the inspiration for 01 Apres Ski, is wintry air that has given skin a sun kissed look. The palettes offers multi-finish textures from a shimmer to matte, allowing you to create a range of radiant looks to flatter all skin tones.

You can find the Tom Ford Soleil Neige Holiday 2022 Collection at Beautylish, Nordstrom, and  on the Tom Ford Website. Each Soleil Neige Eyeshadow Quad ( 4x(0.35 0z./9.9 g) costs $90. Inflation!  the palettes use to cost $85!  The Soleil Neige Lip Blush Lip Balm costs $56.

The Soleil Neige Eyeshadow Quads come packaged in a Shiny White “as snow: recyclable cardboard box with silver writing. Likewise, the compact is also a laquered white with silver metallic TF in center of lid, and silver mirrored mechanism in the front between the top and bottom, with Tom Ford stamped in the center.

Both palettes come with a white sueded dust bag

To open the palette, simply lift up on the lid.  The case has a magnetic closure, so to shut the lid, simply push down and the magnet will do the rest. Inside, underneath the lid is a larg rectangular mirror.  On the other side of the mirror are the four eyeshadow pans, two pans on top and two pans on the bottom.  Also, the palette includes two dual ended applicators.  One is a sponge, on either side, one to apply shades, the other to apply shades as a liner. The other applicator is a dual-ended brush, one side a fluffy brush, the other side another sponge.

The formula, a pressed powder with a shimmery finish, and a satin matte finish  For the Apres Ski Palette. The Chalet Lust Palette has a sparkling “frosted” finish.  The pigment is medium, but it is very buildable. The best part of Both Soleil Neige Palettes is they are both Tom Ford’s wet/dry formula. Did you know you can tell if a Tom Ford Palette is a regular formula, it doesn’t have TF initials on the shadows.  When you see the TF printed on the shadows, that is your way to identify the wet/dry formula.  I think most Tom Ford fans get really excited for the TF on the shades, because the wet/dry formula gives you a lot of options, and a lot more looks to create.

FORMULATED WITHOUT: SILICONE, PHTHALATE,  PARABEN,  MINERAL OIL, BHT, BHA, SULFITE, TRICLOSAN, TRICLOCARBAN.

The 01 Apres Ski Palette

Apres Ski is a rose gold and copper toned palette.

It is medium pigmented, warm-toned palette, and you can use the shades wet for more intensity.  You can also build the shades to have more color payoff. O.K., here it goes…..

Apres Ski Shades Top Row  (left and right)

Top Left

The Top left shade, a very, very light mauve pink shade, (it looks almost white) , with a satiny shimmering finish This is the exact shade I choose to wear, during the day, for a quick one and done look all over my eyelids and up to my crease.  You can also wear this shade as a highlighter, on your brow bones, and the inner corners of your eyes. It is an interesting shade because it looks more like a satiny matte with a lot of radiance.

Top Right

The Top Right shade, medium rosy pink shade, has a satiny matte-radiance-like finish.  I love the finishes on these shades because they are so smooth, and so radiant, they remind me of a cream shadow.  Also, I used my fingers to apply these first two shades and got a lot of color payoff.

Apres Ski Shades Bottom Row (left and right)

Bottom Left

Bottom Left shade, a deeper rose gold shade, has a radiant finish.  This shade is much deeper, with good color payoff, so, using my fingers to apply, I used it in my crease, the outer corners of  my eyes to add depth and dimension.

Bottom Right

Bottom Right shade, a deep copper shade, has a matte finish.  Use this deeper coppery shade in your crease, and line your lower lash lines with this shade, wet.

Honestly, I am surprised at how much I loved this palette.  It has more radiance than shimmer, and a matte shade.  The shades glided on like an ice cube gliding across your eyes.  So easy to apply with my fingers.

Great color payoff, way more than I expected.  I really love the color story, and the finishes, which look , the only word that comes to mind, expensive.  Way to go Tom Ford!  I’m impressed with this one. Also, I think any skin tone can wear this palette.

The 02 Chalet Lust Palette

The Chalet Lust Palette appears to have a “frosted” finish, which you could call a sparkling finish.  A first, the shades looked so similar, I didn’t think it would work for me.  The shades are looking white, gold, silver and bronze.  Let’s find out !

Chalet Lust Shades Top Row (left to right)

Top Left

Top Left shade, a very light gold shade, has a sparkling finish.  It looks radiant on my eyelids. This time I used a brush, and it applied better than I thought it would, with more color payoff. And, of course with two swipes the color payoff was even more pigmented.

Top Right

The Top Right Shade, a deeper gold shade, with silver and gold reflects, has a sparkling finish. It leans on the metallic side, maybe because it is a deeper yellow gold shade.  I still used a brush to apply.    It looks pretty on the eyelids.

Bottom Left

The Bottom Left shade, a light lavender shade with silver reflects, has a sparkling finish.  I needed to layer it a few times with a brush, but it looked more like a topper shade to me.  I would love it on the eyelids, used wet. for as much color payoff as you can get, for a more ethereal look.  I think you will get the best results if you apply this shade with your fingers.

Bottom Right

The Bottom Right shade, a nude-beige, has silver reflects, and a sparkling finish.  With a brush, this one is another ethereal topper shade.  Although, when I used my finger, and applied it in my crease, it added definition and had more color payoff.

This palette was beautiful on the eyes, if you love an ethereal look ( and I do!)  It was not loaded with pigment, nor was it supposed to be.

It reminded me of fallen snow, that had color to it.  The shades really looked frosted.  The shades are beautiful, not intense, just beautiful shades that would be fun to play with.  If you were to only get one of the palettes, I personally would have to say the Apres Ski Palette would be my choice. It is a little easier to work with.however, if you love reflects and beautiful shimmering shades, and don’t need the strong pigments, the Chalet Lust palette is the one for you.

Unfortunately, I ordered the Lip Blush Lip Balm and Sephora sent me a Kosas Deodorant instead.  So, I am still waiting for the lip blush lip balm, which hasn’t come yet. I can say the lip balm turns pink on your lips.  It is clear with silver in it. Usually, these lip balms don’t give you a lot of color payoff.  This one is supposed to be different. We Shall See.
