I have used a Clarisonic for years, ever since it’s inventor first promoted it on QVC. I really love the way it cleans my skin, and I’ve always thought of it as the King of Cleansing Tools. And then I started to get interested in Asian Beauty because it’s a fact that Japan and Korea (especially Korea) are the skincare experts of today, and Korean is considered the skincare capital today. So, what do the experts use to wash their faces, and bodies? They use a Konjac Sponge, the hottest skin cleanser, and yes it is the natural and organic alternative to the Clarisonic and other devices that clean your skin.
The Konjac Sponge is 100% natural . It is from the root of the Armophophalluj Konjac plant, a moisture rich edible plant with an alkaline PH .
It is grown in the high altitudes of tropical and subtropical regions in Asia in the countries of China, Japan and Korea. It is a sponge like no other!!! It’s natural alkaline ability balances the acidity and oils of the skin. I t revitalizes the face and body by gently exfoliating the skin, leaving it smooth, healthy and glowing. It also has a unique net-like structure that gently massages the skin and stimulates blood flow and encourages new cell renewal.
It deeply cleanses your pores, and helps get rid of excess dirt, oil, bacteria, blackheads, and clogged pores.
It is non-abrasive and it doesn’t damage delicate skin. It is extra-soft and ideal for even the most delicate skin, and can be used on children and babies!
Using an additional cleanser with any Konjac Sponge is Optional. That is because the sponge does all the work without the need for additional cleansers. The Konjac has a water soluble vegetable fiber that locks in moisture – that is in the form of water, which locks a film on the surface of the skin.
There are approximately 72 different kinds of Konjac Sponges that are for specific skin types, that are created to perform in many different skin tasks , and address different skin issues. These sponges are different colors because they are infused with different ingredients such as clay, charcoal, bamboo charcoal minerals, green tea, cherry leaf essence, citrus fruit, wild mint, and French Clay that is Pink, or Red to name a few!!!!
It is easy to use your Konjac Sponge.
The Konjak Sponge has been used for centuries to effectively clean skin. The antimicrobial fiber deep cleans, removes makeup and balances the PH of the skin which allows the skin to breath. Even the the Clarisonic has been the undisputed King of Cleaners, it is with great affection that I can recommend the Konjac method as an alternative to the all mighty and very expensive Clarisonic. The Konjac Sponge needs to be replaced between 1-3 months, just like my Clarisonic brushes need to be replaced every few months. However, a Konjac Sponge such as Boscia‘s Bamboo Charcoal is ($15). And it is not necessary to purchase a cleaning product for the sponge! And it performs well, and it cleans your skin without damaging it! It is so gentle it can be used on a baby’s skin.
The Konjac may feel like a rock when it comes out of the packaging. Putting it in hot water allows it to grow, and then it has a gel-like spongy feeling . And when you are finished using it, it comes with an attached string to hang it up to dry, after each use.
You Are Awesome!

Hi there how do I purchase these sponges please
Hi Shiralee,
I get my Konjac sponges from Sephora, and you can get them on Amazon as well. It looks like you are in Australia, and I checked to see if Australia has a Sephora, which you do. Anywhere that sells Korean Beauty Products should sell Konjac Sponges. I hope this has been helpful.
