Tatcha is a San Francisco Company that re-creates the timeless beauty of the Geisha, an intricate part of Japanese Heritage, with it’s simple yet elegant skin-care collection. In fact, all of Tatcha’s skin care products are made in Japan. Some of my skincare product favorites are Tatcha’s Water Cream, Tatcha’s The Essence, Tatcha’s Luminous, Dewy Skin Mist, and Tatcha’s Indigo Soothing Triple Recovery Cream. Recently, Tatcha launched their first primer, the Tatcha Silk Canvas Protective Primer. Immediately, the new primer sold out at Sephora. Not only was the primer sold out, the store’s demonstration sample was empty!
The Tatcha Silk Canvas Protective Primer is unique. Specifically, it is an invisible filter that instantly blurs, primes, protects and color-corrects. In other words, it multi-tasks as a skin protecting, makeup perfecting and anti-aging product. If you are interested in taking a look at the Tatcha Protective Primer Click here ($52).
Tatcha Silk Canvas Protective Primer Filter Finish Packaging
Note that Tatcha is a luxurious brand of skincare. Therefore, their packaging is in keeping with the brand.
First, inside of the packaging box is a special drawer that holds the primer.
Furthermore, the primer is sealed inside some sort of heavy silver packaging. Therefore, nobody has had their fingers in the jar!
Also, the actual compact is a pretty blush-pink, sturdy container whose lid twists off.
Moreover, each compact also comes with a thin silver disc (slightly larger than a quarter) to scoop up the primer from the jar.
Furthermore, the disc has a demarcation line through it to show how much product you need to scoop up from the compact.
Tatcha Silk Canvas Protective Primer Filter Finish Formula
The formula includes silk extracts, that diminish the look of fine lines and imperfections in order to create the perfect canvas for makeup. In addition, the formula uses silk powder to make it easy for makeup to glide on evenly and last longer. Furthermore, the silk powder minimizes excess shine and gives you a soft focus look. In addition, a protective layer derived from botanical ingredients acts as a barrier between makeup and skin. Also, it helps prevent clogged pores and breakouts.
Anti-pollution natural active ingredients fight immediate attack from environmental stressors. In addition, they help support the skin’s barrier function to act against future attacks. The result is it visibly reduces the appearance of wrinkles and dull skin.
Pink and Gold Pearls help to even the skin’s tone for a healthy look.
Finally, Hadasei 3 is a building block ingredient in the Silk Canvas Primer Formula. Hadasei 3 is the trinity of Japanese Super Foods which include green tea, rice and algae. In fact, Tatcha includes Hadasei 3 as a building block in all of their Skin-Care Formulas. The result is it visibly restores youthful radiance to the skin.
Tatcha Silk Canvas Protective Primer Filter Finish Application
It is important to apply the Silk Canvas Protective Primer as the last step in your skin-care ritual.
First, lightly glide the silver disc across the top of the balm. It will act as a spatula and gather up the correct amount of primer.
Again, there is a demarcation line on the disc which shows you exactly when to stop gliding the disc.
Most important, a little product goes a long way!
Next, warm the primer with your fingertips, and dot the formula onto your forehead, nose, cheeks, eyelids and chin. Gently press the primer into your skin, and massage it into the skin with outward motions.
Last, allow the silk to melt into a second skin before you apply your foundation.
Sum
This Silk Canvas Primer is perfect for my dry skin. It actually feels hydrating on the skin. Also, my face felt really smooth, and my liquid foundation was able to glide on easily and evenly. In addition, I found that it really smoothed out my imperfections. More so, it really was pore blurring. What I like the most about The Skin Canvas is that they include skincare ingredients in their primer. Lastly, I like that you can wear the primer by itself if you want your pores to disappear, and you don’t feel like putting makeup on.
I love the Tatcha Skin care Products, and I really had great results with the new primer. Although, I didn’t notice much color correction, but I still have my tan from Key West! Write to me, I would love to hear what you think about the new Tatcha Skin Canvas Primer/Filter, as well as any of the other Tatcha products you may have used.
