Tarte Rainforest Of The Sea Eyeshadow Palette Vol.111 Illuminates

Tarte Rainforest Of The Sea Eyeshadow Palette Vol. 111 ($36) is the third eyeshadow palette in the Tarte Rainforest Of The Sea Collection.  Volumes I and 11 are still available at Sephora.  Volume 1 has 8 everyday velvet eyeshadows, and Volume 11 has 8 cool-toned eyeshadows.  Volume 111 is supposed to “catch the light for eye-illuminating effects,”  Seven of the shadows are shimmery highlighting shades, and one shade is matte.  Tarte is definitely talking mermaid/unicorn trend with this palette!!

The compact is relatively large and round, about as large as your outstretched hand,  but it is still easily  transportable and great for travel!Tarte-Rainforest-by-the-sea-compact-eight-shadesThe cover looks like enameled mermaid scales in unicorn colors.  I love the way it looks.  It has a really nice, large mirror in the upper lid. Housed inside are  eight creamy, dreamy, gorgeous highlighters for the eyes, and it can also be used anywhere else, on your face, where you want a highlight. You can also create a soft-focus all over face glow with these highlighters.

These eyeshadows are vegan!!  The texture of the Rainforest of the Sea Eyeshadow Collection is different than the other formulas Tarte uses to create eyeshadows.  These are formulated as a gel-powder,that Tarte refers to as butter-cream eyeshadow because it is as creamy as butter!  The best advice to get the easiest application is to use your fingers.  This will prevent powder fallout, and it will bring the pigments to life, where a shadow brush would basically do the opposite, and you would be really disappointed in this palette, which would be a shame, because it really is a great palette.Tarte-swatches-rainforest-by-the-sea-vol-111

Escape is a nude pink luster-use on the lids, on the brow bone, down the center of nose, cheekbones, and Cupid’s bow

Tiki is a matte beige.  I would use Tiki as an eyeshadow base, all over the eyelid up to the brow.

Heat Wave is a pink luster.  I love this on the eyelids, and a little on the cheekbones.

Malibu is a plum bronze.  I would use this on the cheeks, and in the crease of the eye, and on the eyelid.

Rays is a peachy copper.  This is another one I would use as a cheek highlighter, on the brow bone, on the eye lid, Cupid’s bow, and on the bridge of the nose.

Compass is a champagne shade.  This is definitely another one I would use everywhere as a highlighter.  I would use it on my face for a soft-focus amazing glow.

Jewell is a copper shade.I love this on the cheeks, and on the eyelids.

Treasure is pearlescent, a real treasure to use as a highlighter on cheeks, eyelids, brow bones, Cupid’s bow, bridge of nose, cheek bones, and as a soft glow all over my face.

These shades are so gorgeous, soft and natural looking, and they are neutrals, so you and everyone else,  with any skin tone ,can wear them. These shades really brighten your eyes. This palette is a real winner, because I love all of the shades, not just the usual 2 or 3 I favor in most other eyeshadow palette.  The shades are so versatile, and if you like  foiled, metallic, shimmery looks, ( I do! Especially in the summer-they look amazing with a tan) with a great ,creamy formula where you don’t even need a shadow primer, then Vol. 111 is the palette for you!

You are Amazing!
