Sunday Riley is known for her innovative Skin Care products. I have been using her Luna Oil for a long time, which is no ordinary oil as I have previously reviewed, it is more a night serum in an oil. In Sunday Riley’s own words she went on a quest to ” invent a moisturizer that was suitable for all skin types.” But, she didn’t stop there, she wanted it to be, not just for hydration, but to be a “cutting edge moisturizer that dealt with signs of aging, hyper-pigmentation, dryness and uneven skin-tone.” She basically created a cream that would give a lot of oomph to the skin addressing many aging issues while it hydrates!
Sunday Riley’s Tidal Moisturizing Enzyme Cream ($65) can be purchased at Sephora. It is an advanced brightening, refining treatment that is infused with next generation, water cream, and it works on dark spots, dryness and fine lines and wrinkles.
Remember, Sunday Riley is innovative, and her products are for making your skin healthier. Most moisturizers are just that, they moisturize your skin and make it feel soft and smooth. Believe it when I tell you, your skin may feel smooth, but it really isn’t moisturized. Most moisturizers contain ingredients such as silicone that lays on top of your skin to make the top layer feel smooth. Tidal, on the other hand, doesn’t feel particularly greasy or oily, or moist on the skin once it is massaged into your skin, because it penetrates deep into it’s layers to create healthier skin.
If you want your skin to be as healthy, like a a baby’s skin, skin that is plump, bright and it feels good, you must use Tidal correctly. The most effective way to use it, or any product that contains hyaloronic acid, is to apply the cream to wet skin, the wetter the better! The reason for this is the important ingredients bind to the water molecules in your skin, and they are absorbed quickly, and deeper into the layers of your skin.
Tidal’s claims it is a moisturizer that tackles several beauty issues in one step. Tidal’s claims are definitely NOT hype. The ingredients have been tested, and scientific evidence backs up all of the product’s claims that include the following wonder-ingredients:
Hyaloronic acid is naturally found in our skin. clinging onto water molecules, which helps skin maintain it’s healthy plumpness.
Because hyaloronic acid levels decrease as we age, it becomes more difficult for our skin to retain moisture and keep it’s youthful glow. The ingredients in Tidal incorporate a double-dose of hyaloronic acids. Hydrolysed hyaloronic and sodium hyaloronic cross polymer work together to boost the skin’s capacity to hold moisture in
Alpha-arbutin is a molecule that effectively blocks the enzyme activity that produces too much melanin, which is a result of hyper-pigmentation Over time, the alpha-arbutin will have a brightening effect for the skin
Tamarin Seed Extract mops up destructive molecules that would be capable of accelerating the aging process of the skin.
Papain is a fruity enzyme from papaya that is an exfoliating ingredient.
What I like about Tidal is…….it is an amazing moisturizer, it certainly has impressed me! It makes my skin look and feel fantastic. It claims that within fifteen minutes of applying it, the hydration of your skin increases by 68 percent, and it continues for twenty four hours. It delivers an intense water drench that hydrates and plumps the skin, it illuminates your complexion, and it immediately smooths and exfoliates your skin.
The only negative about this incredible moisturizer is that it is in a plain old tub with a screw on cap. I think it should be packaged in an airtight bottle, which would maintain the integrity of the ingredients, and a pump dispenser, for hygienic purposes. Or at least, for $65 , just add a spatula to the box so we don’t have to dip germy fingers into the tub! Just Sayin’!
