Sunday Riley is a skincare guru. Moreover, Sunday Riley is a skincare brand whose skincare products are cult favorites. For example, I’ve been a fan of products such as her UFO Clarifying Facial Oil, Luna Sleeping Oil , C.E.O. Protect and Repair Cream, Auto Correct Eye Cream, and Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water. However, you may not know this. Sunday Riley had a small makeup line in 2011. In fact, I’ve purchased Sunday Riley eye shadows and blush at Barneys. Furthermore, I really loved her makeup products. Therefore, when she discontinued her makeup to shift her focus to skincare it was a big disappointment for me. Hence, it was exciting to learn that Sunday had created a new makeup product. The Sunday Riley Influencer Foundation, her first makeup product since 2011, still focuses on the skin.
You can find Sunday Riley Influencer Foundation at Sephora . It retails for $42.
Sunday Riley Influencer Foundation Packaging
First , Sunday Riley,is well known for her packaging, which is minimalist, and chic.
The Influencer Foundation comes in a tube. In addition, it has a pump dispenser. Moreover, the tube’s pump dispenser makes it easy to apply the foundation.
For instance, press the pump, and the right amount of foundation comes out. As a result, you can control how much coverage you need. For example, 1 pump will give you ultra-natural coverage. Therefore, two pumps will create medium coverage.
Sunday Riley Influencer Foundation Formula
For one thing, Sunday Riley’s Foundation Formula focuses on gentle and effective ingredients. Furthermore, these ingredients were curated to compliment your skincare routine rather than work against it. The formula, infused with Canadian Willow, is anti-inflammatory. In addition, ingredients such as northern truffle and bisabolo work to soothe your skin. Moreover, chamomile, green tea and white truffle extracts balance redness in your skin. As a result, the purpose of adding these ingredients was so that you would not need to cover up so much skin with foundation.
Additionally, the formula has a buildable demi-matte finish. Specifically, the design of the formula was to control excess oil without drying out your skin, and even out your skin. The formula is advertised as clean, lightweight, non-drying, doesn’t cake, and won’t irritate your skin. Finally, layering the foundation is advertised to not to clog your pores, or set in fine lines and wrinkles.
Sunday Riley Influencer Foundation Shades
The Influencer Foundation comes in 20 shades. The shades range from very light to very deep. Most important, the shades come in different skin tones. For example, light comes in neutral, warm beige, peach, or yellow undertones. So, there is a wide range of shades and undertones to choose from. I chose shade 210, a medium shade with rich , yellow undertones.
Sunday Riley Influencer Foundation Last But Not Least…………
I was so excited for the launch of this foundation. So, I am sorry to say, I am disappointed. Most of all, it’s not the performance that was advertised. First, the foundation was very liquidy. As a result, it was difficult to apply and blend with a brush, or a sponge. Also, the more I tried to build layers, the more it settled into my lines and pores. And, around my nose it became cakey. Furthermore, it had a sticky feeling. So, instead of melting into my skin, it sat on top of my skin. Last of all, I had some transfer. And, it didn’t last as long as it was supposed to.
Hence, it was a great idea that didn’t quite make it! I am a huge fan of Sunday Riley skincare. Moreover, I used to be a huge fan of Sunday Riley makeup, way back when. So, I am not sure what happened with the Influencer Foundation. I can only hope that Sunday goes back to the lab and reformulates it!
