Stila’s new Shimmer and Glow Liquid Eyeshadow ($24) is their second generation liquid eyeshadow formula. In contrast with the original best selling formula, Glitter and Glow, which is loaded with glitter, the new formula has a more refined shimmery finish. Therefore, Shimmer and Glow Liquid Eyeshadow isn’t sparkly. According to Stila, “it is more of an eye gloss.”
I love the glittery predessesor, Glitter and Glow. However, there are only so many occasions that I would wear a glittery eyeshadow. For this reason, Shimmer and Glow Liquid Eyeshadow is more versatile because it can be worn anytime, and anywhere.
Stila Glitter and Glow Liquid Eyeshadow Formula
Shimmer and Glow does not have any glitter in it’s formula. Instead, the formula has a high shimmery sheen. Furthermore, the formula has a translucent base that is pearl-packed. This allows for the wear versatility of the formula. First, you can wear it during the day when you apply one sheer coat. However, if you were to continue to add layers of the shadow, you would create more drama for a night time look.
Also, the shadows are highly pigmented which gives the shadows rich, vivid color.
The water-infused formula crates a unique lightweight texture. The shadows feel “barely there” on your eyelids. Also, the colors apply easily and smoothly.
Last, the formula is not tacky. Furthermore, their is no transfer of color. Moreover, the formula has an adhesive base which prevents fallout. As a result, you do not need to use primer with this formula.
Stila Shimmer and Glow Liquid Eyeshadow Shades
There are eleven shades in this collection. They are:
First, Grace is a rose taupe shade with a shimmering finish.
Next, Jezebel is rose gold with a shimmering finish.
Kitten, is an old Stila favorite shade of mine because it is a vibrant nude pink. It also has a shimmering finish.
Fourth is a shade called Twig. Twig is a warm chestnut brown with a shimmering finish.
Pigelle is a warm cranberry shimmer
Above and Below are swatches of the first five shades. These are the shades I purchased. Again, the shades are Grace, Kitten, Jezebel, Twig and Pigelle.
Starlight is light gold-champagne with a shimmering finish.
La Douce is a warm gold-green with a shimmering finish.
Cloud is shimmering lavender with gold pearl .
Three new Spring shades were pre-released, along with three new Glitter and Glow shades for the holidays. The set was called Stila Eye For Elegance Liquid Eye Shadow Set. If you received this collection, you are lucky. The rest of us have to wait for Spring when the new shades will be released. The shade I am most anxious to get is called Carefree. It is a shimmering pink coral. Also, Freedom is a shimmering pale aqua. Finally, Boheme is a shimmering pale lilac.
I love these new Shimmer and Glow Liquid Eyeshadows from Stila. The colors are gorgeous. The formula has pigments that are rich and vivid. The liquid shadows have a doe foot applicator which makes them apply easily and slide on smoothly.
Did I tell you that the Shimmer and Glow Liquid Eyeshadows are budge proof? Once the liquid dries down, the shadow’s staying power is impressive. Your shadow will stay on for about nine hours. Further, it stays on without fading, flaking, or creasing.
In addition, it makes creating an ombre eye a breeze. The formula, on its own, creates the ombre for you!
- I am looking forward to the spring release of three new shades. How about you?
