PLAY! Sephora Monthly Subscription Box April 2017 Is It Worth It?

You all know how much I love getting monthly beauty and makeup subscription boxes.  I enjoy getting new products to try out, I love to try products I would not ordinarily purchase, and, it is just plain old fun to get surprise presents (especially if it involves makeup or fashion.) I can’t believe I hadn’t subscribed to the Sephora Play! Subscription, in fact, I didn’t even know that Sephora had their own box, which is hard to believe because I am always in our King of Prussia Sephora, or on Sephora online.. I was excited to subscribe to the Play! Sephora Monthly Subscription Box ($10 plus shipping monthly).  Unfortunately, it only ships to the US. I received my April 2017 box later than most because I had just signed up. But, finally it came and I was excited to see the contents of the box.

Each month the box includes five deluxe samples and a fragrance sample.  It also includes a Play! Pass that you use for any in-store purchase, and you are entitled to 50 extra reward points, 1 on 1 tutorials with a Sephora specialist.  Also in the box is a pamphlet with all the tips and tricks you’ll need to use your products, and other great beauty tips, play-sephora-april-2017-surprise-samples-monthly-bag-subscriptionand all of the products are in a cotton sack with an adorable print on it, and ribbons that open and close it.

The pamphlet is really adorable and informative.  It also contains the Play! card that you’ll need for your next shopping trip to Sephora.  Those extra 50 points are going toward my Sephora prize trip to Paris (LOL!). I think this is the best part of this box!  It describes each product with a twist, very cute!

The Liner Things In Life-

I have used this eye pencil, and the one thing I like about it is it is waterproof, and it is budge-proof, so at the end of the night, I never had raccoon eyes.  I was a little disappointed because this eye pencil has been around for years, so it wasn’t something I don’t have lots of, and I would have preferred a new brand, or a new shade.  Something a bit more exciting.  Oh well, one can always use another black eye pencil liner that’s waterproof!

Erase To The Finish –

Sephora Collection Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover

I prefer other eye makeup removers.  It Cosmetics makes the best makeup remover, so does Eve Lom! I understand why Sephora would include a go-to waterproof makeup remover, because I had a tough time getting off the waterproof black eye pencil from Makeup For Ever. It definitely is a product I would not have purchased, nor will I.  OOOOO Kay.

See You Exfoliator –

I keep this on my bathtub shelf, and use it periodically to exfoliate my face.  I have sensitive skin, so I don’t leave it on for too long, because it will burn my skin.  This is a clinical-strength exfoliator that polishes the skin with natural fruit enzymes.  Once I rubbed it in too much, and I really burned my skin, so be careful if you are sensitive.  These fruit enzymes are really powerful.  I already love this product, so it is nothing new or exciting for me. Actually, the good thing is the tube is so small, I can definitely keep it in my travel bag!

Make The Moisture Of It –

Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream

Now this is a product I wanted to try, and haven’t!  I was excited to see a newer product in the lineup.  Finally!  I was intrigued with the name Cloud Cream for some reason.  It sounded like the Smart Water I drink, which is supposed to replicate the freshness of water fresh from the clouds.  I do love this water!  Anywho, Peter uses three different types of hyaluronic acid in his quenching moisturizer.  I have dry skin, so this is already a winner, and something I might purchase in the future(with my Play card, and   then I’d receive 50 extra Sephora points!  Whooopyyy!

The Prime Is Now –

Are you kidding me Sephora?  This primer has been around for years!  It is a silicone-based formula that does make your skin feel silky, soft and smooth.  It does blur imperfections, and it helps makeup stay on longer than if you didn’t have a primer on.  I think this was the first primer I ever bought!  Now there are so many other formulas, and more exciting primers that illuminate the skin, help with your tan, and almost drive your car for you.  How about one of those in the box????

Crazy about Daisy –

Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau De Toilette Spray

It has bottom notes musk and vanilla

It’s middle notes are violet petals and jasmine

The top  notes are violet leaves and wild strawberries

I love musk, vanilla and jasmine notes, so I liked the scent.  Perfume is so personal, I have worn Opium since it came out, and I still wear it and love it today!

So, this is my first Sephora Play! box.  I give it a C-.  That leaves you a lot of room for improvement Sephora!  Your girls are makeup and beauty savvy, so surprise us with something that wows us the next time, pretty please?  What do you think?  Do you get the Play! box?  Have you gotten some products that you actually want to play with?  Let me know in the comments below.  Don’t be shy!

You Are Awesome!
