The Pat McGrath Holiday 2021 Mothership Mega Celestial Odyssey Collection has launched! We are still waiting for two lip gloss compacts to arrive. The rest of the collection is en route. Best of all, the star of the PM 2021 Holiday Collection, the Mothership Mega Celestial Odyssey Palette, is here! This is Mother’s second Mothership Mega Holiday Palette. If you are a Pat McGrath groupie, you’ll remember last year, the first Mega Holiday Palette, the Mothership Mega Celestial Divinity Palette. Like the 2020 Holiday Mega Celestial Divinity, this year’s Holiday 2021 Mothership Mega Celestial Odyssey also has 18 shades. Furthermore, the shades come in five different finishes: Sateen Shimmer, 24K Duochrome Sparkle, Foiled Metallic, Velvet Matte, and Iridescent Sparkle. Keep reading to find out more about the PM Holiday Mothership Mega Celestial Odyssey Palette!
You can purchase the Pat McGrath Mothership Mega Celestial Odyssey Palette at Sephora, and on the Pat McGrath Labs Website. Also, the Mothership Mega Celestial Odyssey Palette (18 X 0.038 oz./ 1.1g) costs $78.
Packaging
I know you’re thinking about the price discrepancy between the regular 10 pan Mothership Palettes that normally cost $125, and the Holiday Mega Palette that costs $78. This isn’t a mistake. The reason is, instead of the plastic cases of the 10 pan Mothership Palettes, the Holiday Mega Mothership Palette switches up the plastic for cardboard. Obviously, cardboard costs less than plastic. Also, the 18 shades in the Mega Mothership Celestial Odyssey Palette have less product per pan than the regular Mothership Palettes. This also keeps the price down! I love that the Holiday Palette is more affordable. One reason is, this is the greatest gift for the makeup lover in your life. And, $78 for a Pat McGrath Palette, 18 shades in 5 Pat McGrath Formulas, is almost too good to be true!
Also, the Château de Versailles artwork on the cover of the palette and the outer box, is gorgeous. Also, I love that the box and case are red! Inside, is a huge mirror! On the other side of the mirror are 18 shadow in their pans, set in black lacquered plastic. The shadows are arranged in three horizontal rows of six shades.
Pat’s Hieroglyphics are in the center of the eyeshadows. Also, the Hieroglyphics take center stage on the lid of the palette and on the top of the outside box. Also important to mention, the case has a strong magnetic closure. Furthermore, the cardboard is heavy and sturdy. So, even though it is not plastic, the compact is made with sturdy materials. Inside, ribbons on either side of the compact keep the lid from falling backwards.
Formula
First, the 18 shades inspiration comes from supernova gemstones. The formula , pressed powder, creates shades that are very pigmented, smooth and creamy. All of the extraterrestrial effects can be seen in the five superb finishes. The shadows are blendable and buildable. Although, one swipe is really all you need for huge color payoff and opaque coverage. Even more, the shadows feel creamy to the touch. And, they are very long-wearing!
Furthermore, you can apply the shadows wet or dry. For even more drama, you can mix the shades with Mehron Mixing Liquid. In addition, the formula allows for the versatility and shine of the shadows.

My Final Thoughts On Pat McGrath Holiday Mothership Mega Celestial Odyssey Palette….
Nothing compares to Pat McGrath’s formula, finishes, and shades! She is the master of color and shine. The Holiday Palette is a real opportunity for those who can’t swing the $125 Mothership Palettes that have ten shades. The cardboard compact is strong and sturdy. Even more, you still get that amazing mirror that comes in the Mothership Palettes. Also, you get the magnetic closure. Best of all, you get to try 18 gorgeous shadows in five gorgeous finishes. Nothing compares to the way these shadows shine! If you can, this is your chance to go for it! You are going to love it!
