New Too Faced Melted Matte Lipsticks

LipsMakeupTrends

Hello Week!  Happy Memorial Day!  Let’s Do This!

A few years ago Too Faced Cosmetics introduced us to Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick. It was the beginning of a new way to think about lipstick.  We were no longer limited to the traditional bullet shape of the lipstick tube, nor were we limited to a solid formula to get opaque color.  Beginning this spring 2016. Too Faced introduced a new formula, new shades and a new applicator –   Too Faced Melted Liquified Matte Long Wear Lipstick($21 at Sephora).

The change Too Faced made on the applicator, a doe shaped sponge on the wand instead of on the tube, gives a more precise application which you really need because the new formula is even more saturated and more matte than the old formula.  The triangular shaped tube is pretty and unusually shaped, which makes it a pretty bottle of lipstick!  I love the newness of the packaging of the Melted Matte because it is such a different look for lipstick, and I love the see-through vial that shows the entire content of the lipstick inside of it.

The new formula is infused with antioxidant-rich avocado oil, moisturizing vitamin E , and “hyaluronic filling spheres” that are for smooth texture and hydrated lips.  The formula also includes something they call “Vollulip” that will plump the lip without the sting.

It’s Happening is a Gorgeous Raspberry Color.  It reminds me of the Prince Song, “Raspberry Beret!”

Sell Out is a popular color because it is a beautiful pink-nude.

Lady Balls is a deep, warm red.  It is a beautiful red that could be worn on every skin type!

There are sixteen gorgeous shades in the new Melted collection.  I chose these three because it includes  a nude, a berry and a red color.  The range of colors is beautiful.  The lip colors are extremely saturated and pigmented.  You are able to achieve opaque color with one swipe, and you will also get full coverage with one swipe.  The liquid is easy to apply with the new applicator, and it dries quickly.  So I can say it has the staying power of a lip stain, and the color pay off of a liquid lipstick.

The Melted Matte Lipstick has a thinner consistency than other liquid lipsticks. Once applied, it leaves a smooth even color which takes a few seconds to set into a matte finish.

What I like about Melted Matte Liquid Lipstick is……the wide range of beautiful colors, the lightweight feeling that I am not wearing anything on my lips, the finish that looks smooth and even, the saturated pigment, and the fact that it was easy to apply What I am iffy about is that even though it has avocado oil and vitamin E as ingredients to keep lips moist and soft, the formula, like all liquid matte lipsticks, can feel dry on the lips, and over time (and it is a long wearing formula), my lips felt a little tight and the color flakes a bit.   I find this occurs with all matte long wear lip products!  Forget Melted Matte if you suffer from chapped, dry lips.  If, on the other hand, you love matte lips (which is such a trend right now), Too Faced Melted has more moisturizing agents than a lot of other matte liquids, so it does have this advantage over other formulas and other brands.

Also, the formula is without parabens, sulfates, phthalates, and it is cruelty free and gluten free.

Have a wonderful Memorial Day Holiday.  Happy Summer!
