I love Tom Ford’s beauty line. However, one minus for the brand is the products are really expensive! Although, the brand seems to be worthy of the expense. One reason is because the products are luxurious. Another reason is the quality of the products is amazing. For instance, the formula, the pigments, and the textures of the shadows are of the highest caliber. I’ve had two of the New Tom Ford Eye Shadow Quads sitting in my “to do” box. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a chance to play with them. This is because I was too busy playing Christmas Palettes this year. As a result, I’d forgotten how beautiful these palettes are.
First, there are Seven New Tom Ford Eye Shadow Quads. Actually, they were released in the fall, so they are not so new now. But, they are new for me, and you! I purchased two Quads, African Violet, and Photosynthesex.
New Tom Ford Eye Shadow Quads Packaging
Tom Ford stayed true to his original Quad packaging. The compact is the same iconic Tom Ford cognac color with gold accents.
Opened, the compact has a mirror on one side and four eye shadows, and two double-sided applicators on the other. One applicator has a brush on one side and a sponge on the other.
The second applicator has a sponge on either side.
New Tom Ford Eye Shadow Quads Formula
The formula, a baked gel powder shadow, is known for its silky texture and luminous finish. The pigments create bold colors. Each of the Quad’s shades have a different finish. In addition, it can be used wet or dry. The smooth texture is easy to blend, and easy to apply. Moreover, the shadows are long lasting. Also, the shadows have minimum fallout. And, they do not crease.
New Tom Ford Eye Shadow Quads Shades
Again, there are seven new Tom Ford Eye Shadow Quads.
First, the Supernouveau Quad has shadows are smoky neutral shades.
Second, the Pretty Baby Quad shadows are rosy neutral shades.
Third, the Leopard Sun Quad shadows are warm neutral shades.
Fourth, the Virgin Orchid Quad shadows are mauve hues.
Fifth, the Daydream Quad Shadows are violet hues.
The African Violet Quad Shadows Are Sunset Shades.
To start, the Purple shade is a soft, sheer duochrome. I love this color on the eye lids. Next, the copper glitter looks great on the eye lids, and on the outer corners of the eyes. Also, I would use the copper glitter in the crease. In addition, use it as a topper, over other shadows. Moreover, the deep bronze shimmer looks great on the eye lids, and in the crease. I also love this color as a liner, on the lower lash line. Finally, the Orange Coral Satin shade looks great as color on your eyelids. Also, it would make a great crease color. Also, to make your eyes brighter, use it in the inner corners of your eyelids, or your outer corners. I’d even use it as a liner.
The African Violet Quad reminds me of summer. However, it is an all year round palette. I love the warm tones of this palette. Moreover, I also love that the shades are brighter in this palette. Usually, TF Quads can be really muted. As a result, they aren’t as interesting to wear. Besides, they aren’t fun to play with!
The Photosynthesex Quad Shadows Are Gold And Green Shades
First, The Name
Is TF trying to be cheeky, funny or what? I only hope that the google robots don’t see the sex in Photosynthesex, and reprimand me, as they did in my Nars Orgasm Reviews. They tagged me and said orgasm was inappropriate to use. Obviously, a person did not read the blog, or they would have recognized that Orgasm is the name of a Nars color.LOL
The Four Shades
To begin with, the yellow-gold shade has a satin finish. I love this shade on the eyelids. Also, you can wear this gold in the inner corners of your eyes. Additionally, wear the gold shade as a highlighter on your brow bones.
Then, the rich burgundy brown shade looks amazing as a transition color. Wear it in your crease. Furthermore, line your eyes with it. Also, use this shade on the outer corners of your eyes to give yourself a smoky eye.
Next, the green shade looks like an aquamarine green to me. The reason it looks like that is because I see a lot of teal in it. I love teal eye shadow. Furthermore, the green/aquamarine/teal shade has a matte finish. Therefore, wear it on your eyelids, Use it in the crease. Also use it on the outer corners of your eyes and smoke it out. Moreover, wear it as a liner on your lower lash lines.
Finally, the green/brown duochrome has a glittery finish. It looks great as an all over the eye shade. Also, use it to blend into other shade. And, it is a great crease shade. I’d even use it over the green on my lash lines.
Above all, I think that Photosynthesex is Tom Ford’s most interesting, and most different Quad. Also, this I would wear all year round. I love how it is a bold color palette. I’m thinking bold, and sexy.
New Tom Ford Eye Shadow Quads Last But Not Least…….
All of TF’s Quads are beautiful. I wish I had a whole drawer full of them! First, I love the way TF lays out the four shades. To me, each palette looks like a piece of art. Also, the quad palettes are real workhorses. For example, you can create bold looks. Then, you can create a smoky eye. How about a sexy eye? What about a daytime look? Moreover, create beautiful nighttime looks. Best of all, you can create multiple looks with the four eye shadows in each quad. TF gave you the paints. Now, its your turn to be creative with the colors.
Each quad has something unique. Photosynthesis has two things. First, it has green eye shadow. I can’t remember ever seeing green TF eye shadow palettes. And, second, it is a bold palette. African Violet is a warm, sunset palette. However, the shades are bright and interesting.
Don’t forget to look at the other five palettes. I know the price is steep. But, if you can, try one. Its nice to have one great palette than ten so so palettes. Let me know what you think in the comments below.
