Tom Ford has been busy busy busy. First, he released his Soleil Neige Winter Collection. Now, recently launched are 5 new Tom Ford 2020 Eyeshadow Quads. For one thing, at first sight, they don’t look that much different from the old Tom Ford Eyeshadow Quads. However, I took a really good look. Then, I compared them to some of my old TF quads. And, it turns out, that they are all very different. Even more, the 2020 eyeshadows come in a new formula.
Each of the 5 new quads are curated with four shades. In addition, each of the four shades compliment each other. In fact, these are basic quads that run the gambit. First, they go from neutrals, to warm shades. Also, they come in cool and smoky shades.
Packaging For The Tom Ford 2020 Eyeshadow Quads
To begin with, the packaging hasn’t changed at all. The Mahogany outer boxes, and compacts are shiny.
And, they have gold accents. Furthermore, the compacts all have magnetic closures.
Inside, the palettes all have a mirror. You know what that means? They are easy to travel with. In addition, each quad comes with two double-ended applicators.
The best use for these applicators are touchups on the go. Last, each palette has 4 eyeshadows.
Tom Ford 2020 Eyeshadow Quads Formula
Next, the formula includes concentrated pigments that deliver vibrant, true-tone color. This is Tom Ford’s pressed powder formula. It isn’t the wet, dry formula used in his Soleil Neige collections. Additionally, the shadows apply effortlessly.
They go on like silk. Furthermore, you can build their intensity from very sheer, to dramatic. Even more, you can create multi-dimensional looks. Finally, the shadows are long-wearing. They adhere well on your eyes.
The Tom Ford 2020 Eyeshadow Quads Shades
There are 5 palettes. However, I needed another TF palette like a hole in my head. So, I purchased two of them.
The Palettes I Left On The Shelf
First, Mink Mirage is a perfect neutral palette. Also, it has four matte shades. And, I left this one, since half of my palettes are neutral! Then, the next Quad, Arabesque, didn’t have the impact that the other palettes had. So, I passed on it. The last one I didn’t purchase is Sous Le Sable. For one thing, this one is the coolest palette in the mix. Three of the shades are a pinky-mauve. Although, there is one warm shade in the palette. And this is the shade that makes me want the this palette! The reason is, the mauve-pinks with the peach shade is an incredible combination of colors. It is a feminine WoW!
The Palettes I Had To Have
De La Creme
First, I fell in love with the De La Creme Palette. One reason is, it is the warmest of the five palettes. Also, it has two shimmering satin shades. In addition, it has two matte shades. The shade on the top left is the lightest shade in the palette.
How I’d Wear The De La Creme Quad
First, I’d use this champagne shade with a shimmering satin finish, all over the lids. Also, this is the highlighter in this palette. Therefore, wear it on your brow bones, and on the inner corners of your eyes.
Next to the right of the Champagne shade, is a coppery satin shade. I love this shade on your eyelids. Or, wear the Champagne shade on the inner half of your eyelid, and the copper shade from the outer corners to the center of your eyelids.
Then, the crease shade, on the lower left, is a brown shade with mustard undertones. Also, it has a matte finish.
Last, on the bottom right, is a chocolate brown matte. Use this matte brown to line your upper and lower lash lines. Also, use it on your outer V, and in the outer corners of your eyes.
Finally, The De La Creme can be worn in the day. However, you can build up the intensity of the shades, and wear this beautiful palette at night.
Noir Fume Palette
Next, the Noir Fume Palette is a more neutral to cool toned palette. Also, like the De La Creme Palette, it has two matte shades, the lightest shade, and the darkest shade. Another reason I love this palette, is it is more sultry, and sexy. Therefore, you can create a dramatic eye look. The other two shades are shimmering satin shades. No glitter at all! These are elegant eyeshadows!
How I’d Wear The Noir Fume Quad
To begin with, I’d wear the white matte shade that’s on the top right of the palette, all over my eyes. Also, it is a great highlighter, for under your brow bones, and on the inner corners of your eyes.
Next, the shade on the top left, a shimmering satin in taupe, has a hint of gold undertone. This shade is gorgeous all over the eye lids. In fact, this could be a day look, just the way it is. One shade and you’re done.
Then, on the bottom left, a dark milk chocolate shade, also has a satiny shimmer finish. This is a gorgeous shade for your crease. Also, you can use it in the outer corners of your eyes. Moreover, you can wear it on the outer third of your eyelids.
Last, the shade on the bottom right, is a dark, dark brown shade. First, I’d wear this dark shade to line my upper and lower lash lines. Also, I would connect the outer corner to the lower lash line. This adds more definition to the eyes.
Finally, this palette is for a night out on the town. Also, wear it when you have a black tie event to go to. Although, you can wear it everyday. For example, where the shimmering satin taupe shade, as a one and done. It’s easy peasy.
Final Thoughts On The Tom Ford 2020 Eyeshadow Quads…….
First of all, they are from Tom Ford. Doesn’t that say it all? They may look similar to the older quads. However, they are different when you look at them next to the older quads. Even more, I like that they are quads. Sometimes these bigger palettes are a waste. We spend a lot of money. And, we probably only use 4 shades anyways. Moreover, the new formula works well. However, the old formula also worked well. As a result, I am not quite sure why TF would need a new formula? In fact, Honestly, I didn’t see a big difference!
Have you tried the new 2020 Tom Ford Quads? If so, did you have a chance to compare them to the old Tom Ford quads? I ‘d love to hear what you think about the new formula? Did you see a big difference? Also, what quads did you get? I love hearing your thoughts on all things makeup. So, please, take a minute, and write me a quick note in the comments box below. I’d love to hear if you think its worth it to spend $88 on four eyeshadows? Even if they are from Tom ford? It does seem like a lot of money, doesn’t it?
