The Punk Rock era of the 1970’s inspired The Nars Holiday Collection 2018. First of all , I was a teenager during the 1970’s. Therefore, I remember the perverse individualistic kids in the 70’s fairly well. For instance, everyone was seeking their individuality. In fact, the kids in the 70’s, following the turbulent 1960’s, were part of the “me” generation. Remember, the 60’s was the “we” generation? You know, hippies and folk songs. Punk replaced folk rock. David Bowie replaced James Taylor. The Sex Pistols, oh well…. have you ever heard them? Get it? As a result, Nars created the Nars Holiday Collection, 2018.
For example, the Nars Hot Tryst Cheek Palette, and the Nars Orgasm Infatuation Cheek Palette are part of the holiday collection. Now, I’m thinking, and hearing “Rocky Horror Picture Show”, a popular film that represents the 1970’s (“Give yourself over to absolute pleasure!”) Hence, it is not surprising that Nars Climax Mascara, and Nars Spiked Audacious Lipstick echo punk rock’s
rebellious vibe.

Nars Holiday Collection 2018 Packaging
Spiked Audacious Lipstick Siouxsie
To begin with, the packaging makes the Spiked Audacious Lipsticks Cool. Each of the three lipsticks come in three different colored, limited edition packaging.
Since I purchased Siouxsie, the red packaging is luxe and substantial.
I love the spiked bullet inside. For instance, it is unusual to see a lipstick that, like a Valentino Handbag, has spikes. As a result, the spikes make the lipstick fun for the holidays. In fact, the bullet is captivating from every angle. The spikes look like a sculpted work of art! Also, the spikes and red packaging make Siouxsie very gift-able.
Climax Mascara
The sexy red mascara tube reminds me of a naughty red slip.
Inside, the patented brush is thick and fluffy.
In addition, the ribbed bristles are full-bodied, and capture and coat each lash. Furthermore, this brush builds layers without the mascara clumping. One coat is great for a daytime lash. Two coats gives you nighttime drama. You’ll love the false eye ash effect you get from the second coat.
Nars Holiday Collection 2018 Formula
Spiked Audacious Lipstick Siouxsie Formula
First, the Audacious Lipsticks dress your lips with bold coverage. Furthermore, the luxe texture smooths and nourishes your lips. I love this formula because it doesn’t dry out my lips. Also, the pigments create an opaque color with one swipe.
Climax Mascara Formula
First, Nars Lash Moisture Complex is a whipped formula. As a result, the mascara is creamy. Also, you can build the volume of your lashes with more than one coat. Additionally, the formula lifts and builds your lashes. Furthermore, the rich color of the mascara is an intense black shade that creates bold dimension. The thing I love most about the formula is it doesn’t clump and it doesn’t smudge. Moreover, your lashes will feel soft, not stiff. And, intense pigments will wrap your lashes from your lash-line to your lash tips.
Nars Holiday Collection 2018 Shades
Spiked Audacious Lipsticks
First, Sheena is a Burnt Coral Nude Shade with a satin finish. Also, Sheena is exclusive to Nordstrom. Next, Nancy, exclusive to Nars Beauty.com, is a deep plum shade with a satin finish.
Last, Siouxsie, the shade I purchased, is a burgundy shade with a satin finish.
Climax Mascara
The Nars Climax Mascara . in Explicit, is an intense black shade with a satin finish.
Nars Holiday Collection 2018 Last But Not Least……
I was thrilled with the Nars Holiday Collection 2018 because it was one of the more “original” collections. Also, it was in keeping with the iconic brand. Many of the other brands, such as Bobbie Brown, Huda Beauty, and Kevyn Aucoin did their own interpretations of a nude palette. I also loved the Nars Holiday Packaging.
It is the most artistic packaging. I love the spiked compacts in this collection. Furthermore, this is one of the more gift-able collections. First, the formulas are beautiful. The colors are vivid, and the packaging is special. And, if you don’t want to gift pieces of the collection, at least gift one piece to yourself. The best gifts are always the ones that are “to me, from me,” don’t you think?
