Today I want to talk about a powder that, while it won’t brighten your day, will brighten your face. To begin with, I am not a lover of setting or finishing powders. For one thing, most of the powders are very matte. I prefer a dewier finish. Although, when I saw the Koh Gen Do Brightening Moisture Powder on Beautylish, I thought, hum, brightening moisture in a powder? For one thing, I have sallow skin. Another thing, I have very dry skin. Therefore, I had to try it.
Koh Gen Do is a Japanese Skincare and Makeup Line that fights the signs of aging. Furthermore, the brand uses Japanese Technology & Holistic Skincare Wisdom to help fight the signs of aging. As a result, their formulas are rich in botanicals. Hence, nature and science create their gentle, effective products.
You can find the Koh Gen Do Brightening and Moisturizing Powder at Beautylish and on the Koh Gen Do Website. Moreover, the Brightening Moisture Powder (0.32 oz/ 9g) costs$62.
Packaging For The Koh Gen Do Brightening Moisture Powder
The outer box is a bright eye-catching red shade.
Inside, the compact is Koh Gen Do’s signature metallic red shade. Then, opened, the compact has a round mirror. In addition, there is a small rounded applicator brush.
Even more, the compact looks like a cushion foundation. First, the powder is underneath a lid. Then, the lid lifts up on one side, to reveal the powder. I love that t he powder’s designed with cool looking swirls.
The Koh Gen Do Brightening Moisture Powder Formula
To begin with, the Moisture Powder Formula includes the newest powder technology. To explain, the technology infuses the mineral powder with 10 moisture-retaining botanicals. Also, the formula includes hyaluronate and ceramides. Also included in the formula, diamond powder is added for radiance. And, it will give your makeup a soft veil of light finish.
One thing you should know, talc is the first ingredient listed on the back list of ingredients.
Although this is a powder, surprisingly, there was no powder kick up from the pan. Also, the powder itself was easy to pick up with a powder brush.
Moreover, the finish is just a subtle, pearly sheen. In other words, it is a smooth, pearly, luminous radiance.
It is a gorgeous finish.
However, there is no glitter and no shimmer in the ingredients. Above all, the powder doesn’t look powdery. Even more, it doesn’t look matte.
My Final Thoughts On The Koh Gen Do Moisture Powder…….
First, if you have dry skin, then you will love this powder. However, if your skin is oily, it may not be the best powder for you. The reason is, the formula, made with so many moisture-retaining ingredients, that maintain the moisture of your skin.
Also, you can use the Moisture Powder in several ways. First of all, it makes an amazing setting powder. Brush it on over your foundation. One thing it does is smooth the look of your skin’s surface. The reason it does this it has light refracting powders that will smooth the look of your face. Even more, I love how it brightens up my complexion. Moreover, it creates a radiant complexion. Above all, it doesn’t settle into your fine lines.
Another way I use the Moisture Powder is as a finishing powder. In this way, after you are finished applying all of your makeup, you would powder over your makeup, including blush, eyes, etc, to finish your look. I love that it finishes your face, leaving you with a soft veil of light. In fact, the finish is radiant and silky.
Finally, you can also use the Moisture Powder to touch up and add a sheer luminosity to your skin.
