Brand new, Kat Von D : The Alchemist Holographic Palette ($32) is finally here! The hype went on for months (on Instagram), with little teasers about the packaging. The mystery was, no one could guess what was inside of the packaging! We knew Kat spent seven years perfecting the Palette’s formula. We just didn’t know what the palette was! It was mysterious, a secret that has finally been revealed with the release of The Alchemist Palette this week.
I have seen highlighter palettes whose shades appear to be similar to The Alchemist. But that is as far as the similarities go. The Alchemist Palette was inspired by the Ancient Science of Alchemy (the science of transforming natural materials into a precious elixir.) It was designed to create perfect, radiant, special effects. The formula, “Double dimension Technology,” creates an otherworldly iridescence with a bold impact! The four holographic shades are for use on your lips, eyes and face. To transform your look, layer them on top of your eye shadows, and your lipsticks. This will transform them so you can create different makeup effects. Also , they can be used as highlighters.
Kat created outstanding packaging.
I love how the palette shifts colors in different light, and in different positions. I also love that the four palette shades are the colors that appear in the hologram. How do they do it? Magic!
Ingredients of the four palette shades
The four shades are:Emerald, Saphyre, Amethyst, and Opal. They are duo-chromatic shades that have a holographic shift ( the color changes depending upon how you look at them).
Emerald (a lime green with a gold shift)
Saphyre (blue with a green shift)
Amethyst (ultra-violet with an iridescent blue shift)
Opal (pink with a gold shift)
The Alchemist Palette formula created shades that are not chalky. The shades are duo-chromes that have a holographic shift depending on how you look at them. The colors blend well and are soft ( not as soft as some powders that feel like creams, just soft enough, but they do not feel creamy) they are radiant, and they have an otherworldly iridescence. These four prismatic transformers can be worn alone, as highlighters, or layer them over your eye shadows and lipsticks. Each shade catches the light from every angle. You will have fun creating illuminating looks with new effects while using your eye shadows and lipsticks.
What do you think about Kat’s newest palette? We’d love to hear from you in the comments below!
